II Corinthians Chapter 13 {Paul jabs them with Greek syntax.} 1~~This is the third time I am coming face to face with you. {Deuteronomy 19:15} "By a mouth of two witnesses . . . or from three every accusation shall be confirmed." {Note: We know of 3 times Paul 'readies' himself to come to Corinth. But this will be his second trip recorded in the Scriptures. From Chapter 1:19 we see 3 taught dogmatically in Corinth - 3 witnesses. Two laid it on the line, the third, the youthful and timid Timothy, was kicked out . . . which showed the Corinthians were in reversionism.} 2~~I have said previously   {that they failed - in I Corinthians}, and I am saying previously as if I am present the second time   {earlier in II Corinthians} . . . although now being absent . . . I write to the ones who have sinned before {in reversionism} and to all the rest   {believers growing in grace} . . . if I come back toward you again - maybe yes, maybe no - I will not spare {any of you}(!) . . . {Note: Whether face to face or in writing Paul is giving them doctrine the same way! Paul will brace them in writing or face to face if they need it! He will call the shots as they are! No matter whom it hurts or what their status is, Paul will call it as it is! Pure honesty.} 3~~since you are constantly and diligently seeking {zeteo} the evidence of the Christ communicating by means of me . . . Who {Christ} is not deficient of strength with reference to all of you, but showing Himself powerful among you all. {Note: Zeteo means here to seek in a negative sense - to prove Paul wrong. They are listening for an excuse for what they have done -to condemn him - not seeking true doctrine. Christ denied Himself His own power of Deity, but instead used the power of God the Holy Spirit while in the Hypostatic Union. He developed an edification complex of the soul by age 12.} 4~~For although He received crucifixion out from weakness, yet He keeps on living out from the source of the power {omnipotence} of God. For we also are weak . . . in Him   {SuperGrace life}, but we shall live in association with Him out from source of the power of God with reference to you all. {Note: The weakness was with the Jews and the Romans - the human race. SuperGrace believers have 'grace orientation'. They know that they are weak and He is strong and are totally dependent on God - 'For it is by Grace . . .'} {Testing for the Edification Complex of the Soul - verses 5-6 Are you in Reversionism?} 5~~ Be testing {peirazo} yourselves if you are in the sphere of The Doctrine {that which is believed}. Be testing {dokimazo} yourselves for approval. Be perceiving yourselves that Jesus Christ . . . with you   {synonym for Edification complex of the soul) . . . unless you keep on being reversionists {adokimos}. {Note: Peirazo is an assayer's term. It means to test the ore to see if it IS or IS NOT gold. In this use, it means to test yourself to see if you advancing or going backward.} {Note: Dokimazo means to test for graduation. Only a positive connotation here. Are you moving forward?} {Note: Adokimos means to be reprobate, worthless, rejected, unable to stand - in other words - it is technical here for being in reversion.} 6~~Moreover, I keep hoping that you shall know that we {Paul and his team} are not reversionists. {Personal characteristics of the communicator are NON ISSUES.} 7~~Moreover, we pray face to face with The God that you all do 'nothing' evil.   {used for steps to reversion here in context} Not that we . . . approved . . . should be seen/visible   {means the communicator should be invisible -   get your eyes on the message} . . . but that you all should do 'The Honorable' thing   {means to keep advancing} . . . even though we seem to be like reversionists. {Note: In Greek syntax, actually is 'NOT NOTHING' because a double negative is a very strong negative (and is grammatically correct!). But, in English would just be 'NOTHING'. They have said Paul was 'out of fellowship' when he was harsh with them. Paul is saying communicators are not to be under the judgement of the congregation for approval - GOD JUDGES the communicator directly - but YOUR JOB is to keep on taking in doctrine no matter how you feel about the communicator personally!} 8~~For we {communicators} can do nothing against bible doctrine {the truth}, but on behalf of bible doctrine. {Note: VERY strong negative here. Under NO circumstances . . . ever. The Word of God lives and abides forever.} 9~~For we have inner happiness, whenever we are weak   {in the SuperGrace life}, but you are strong/powerful   {scarcasm . . . in reversionism they are living on their own   capabilities and rejecting Grace} and this also we pray . . . your completion.   {entrance into the SuperGrace life} {Epilogue} 10~~Because of this   {desire that they leave reversionism}, I write these things . . . being absent . . . for the purpose that . . . being present . . . I should not employ sharpness/acrimony . . . according to the authority/power which the Lord has given me . . . for the purpose of edification and not destruction. {Note: The message of the communicator is FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH. Paul is telling them he is writing these things to 'build them up' not tear them down/ chew them out as he might be tempted to if he were physically there! ! They were criticizing Paul saying he was a roaring lion.} 11~~As for the rest, royal family of God   {brethren - 5 commands}: keep on possessing inner happiness   {+H in SuperGrace} . . . keep on receiving equipment/preparation   {consistent intake of bible doctrine -   build an Edification Complex of the soul} . . . keep on receiving comfort . . .   {what you receive with bible doctrine metabolized in your soul} keep on thinking objectively   {thinking based on bible doctrine - the Divine Viewpoint} . . . keep on living in happiness/tranquility/peace   {prosperity of the SuperGrace life} . . . {result clause} and The God of love and benefit shall be associated with you. {Concept of SuperGrace Rapport} 12~~Salute/greet one another of the same kind . . . in separation . . . by means of the kiss of highest decoration. {Note: In Rome, the Caesar would greet great heroes of the Republic with a kiss on the cheek. Then this person would have the title of 'Friend of Caesar'. This means for the SuperGrace believers to give special mental recognition other SuperGrace believers.} {All believers in fellowship and moving forward will greet you also} 13~~All the saints greet/salute you. {Finally and Most Importantly - the Godhead will recognize you.} 14~~The grace from the Lord Jesus Christ   {SuperGrace}, and the love of The God   {God the Father}, and the fellowship of The Holy Spirit . . . associated with you all!
