I
Samuel
Chapter
12
1``And
Samuel said unto all Israel,
"Behold,
I have 'heard, listened, and obeyed' {shama`}
unto
your voice in all that you said unto me,
and
have caused to reign as king."
2``
"And now, behold, the king walks himself around before you.
And
I am old and gray headed.
And,
behold, my sons are with you
and
I have walked myself around before you
from
my childhood unto this day."
3``
"Behold, here I am.
Witness
against me before Jehovah/God,
and
before his anointed . . .
Whose
ox have I taken?
Or
whose ass have I taken?
Or
whom have I defrauded?
Whom
have I oppressed?
Or
of whose hand have I received any bribe
to
blind mine eyes therewith?
And
I will restore it you."
4``
And they said,
"You
have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us.
Neither
have you taken anything of any man's hand
{that was not his - Samuel did not defraud anyone}."
5``
And he {Samuel} said unto them,
"Jehovah/God
is witness against you,
and
His anointed is witness this day,
that
you have not found anything in my hand."
And
they answered,
"He
is witness."
6``And
Samuel said unto the people,
"Jehovah/God
advanced/manufactured { `asah - from His Grace}
Moses
and Aaron,
and
Who brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt."
7``
"Now therefore stand still,
that
I may reason with you
before
Jehovah/God of all the righteous acts of Jehovah/God,
which
He manufactured/did {`asah}
for
you and to your fathers."
8``
"When Jacob had come into Egypt,
and
your fathers cried unto Jehovah/God {prayed for His help},
then
Jehovah/God sent Moses and Aaron,
who
brought forth your fathers out of Egypt,
and
caused them 'dwell in prosperity' {yashab} in this place."
9``
"And when they forgot Jehovah/God their 'Elohiym/Godhead
{reversionism - negative volition to God and His Word},
He
sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor,
and
into the hand of the Philistines,
and
into the hand of the king of Moab,
and
they fought against them."
10``
"And they cried/prayed unto Jehovah/God, and said,
"We
have sinned,
because
we have forsaken Jehovah/God,
and
have served Baalim { Ba`al} and Ashtaroth {`Ashtarowth}
{the false gods of the Phallic Cult - sexual orgies and human
sacrifice offered to these 'gods'}
but
now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies,
and
we will serve You."
11``And
Jehovah/God kept on sending
Jerubbaal,
and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel,
and
delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side,
and
you 'dwelled in prosperity' {yashab} safe."
12-13~~And
when you saw that
Nachash/Nahash
{snake} the king of the children of Ammon invaded,
you
kept on saying unto me
{Samuel - as the political and spiritual leader of the people - really
a Theocracy - ruled by God through His prophet},
"No,
no, no. But a king shall keep ruling over us . . .
but
Jehovah/God 'Elohiym/Godhead was your king. 13~~
Now
therefore behold the king {referring to Saul}
whom
you have chosen,
and
whom you kept begging for!
And,
behold, Jehovah/God has given you a king
{Saul was the people's choice - God just permitted it}.
14
If you will fear Jehovah/God, and serve him,
and
obey his voice,
and
not rebel against the commandment of Jehovah/God,
then
shall both you and also the king that reigns over you
continue
following Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead 15
but
if you will not obey the voice of Jehovah/God,
but
rebel against the commandment of Jehovah/God,
then
shall the hand of Jehovah/God be against you,
as
it was against your fathers.
16
Now therefore stand and see this great thing,
which
Jehovah/God will do before your eyes.
17
Is it not wheat harvest today?
I
will call unto Jehovah/God,
and
he shall send thunder and rain;
that
you may perceive and see that your wickedness is great,
which
you have done in the sight of Jehovah/God,
in
asking you a king.
18
So Samuel called unto Jehovah/God;
and
Jehovah/God sent thunder and rain that day
and
all the people greatly feared Jehovah/God and Samuel.
19
And all the people said unto Samuel,
Pray
for your servants unto Jehovah/God
your
'Elohiym/Godhead, that we die not
for
we have added unto all our sins this evil,
to
ask us a king.
20
And Samuel said unto the people,
Fear
not.
You
have done all this wickedness
yet
turn not aside from following Jehovah/God,
but
serve Jehovah/God with all your heart/'right lobe'; 21
and
turn you not aside
for
then should you go after vain things,
which
cannot profit nor deliver;
for
they are vain.
22
For Jehovah/God will not forsake his people
for
his great name's sake
because
it has pleased Jehovah/God
to
make you his people.
23
Moreover as for me,
'Let
it not become so'
that
I should sin against Jehovah/God
in
ceasing to pray for you
but
I will teach you the good and the right way.
24
Only fear Jehovah/God,
and
serve him in Doctrine/truth
with
all your heart/'right lobe';
for
consider how great things he has done for you.
25
But if you shall still do wickedly,
you
shall be consumed,
both
you and your king.
