Matthew

Chapter 25
{Verses 1-30 deal with the Baptism of Fire for Jews}
{The Parable of the Ten Virgins - Verses 1-13}
25:1~~ "At that time, the kingdom from the source of heaven {the 2nd advent and millennial reign of Jesus Christ the King} will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom."

{Note: 'At that time' means the Chapter break in KJV was put at the wrong place. Jesus' thought of the previous chapter continues. In this parable, the 10 virgins are the friends of the bride who wait outside the groom's house until the groom brings the bride and the marriage party begins. These virgins are people alive at the 2nd Advent - 5 believers and 5 unbelievers. Their being 'virgins' represents free will/volition. Also see Revelation 19: 7-9.}

25:2~~"Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise {reversed order in the KJV but this matches the Greek}."

{Note: Five is considered the number of grace in the bible. All 10 heard the gospel and 5 rejected it and 5 responded positively.}

25:3~~"When the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take oil with them {they rejected the gospel from their own free will}."

25:4~~" But, in contrast, the wise ones took flasks of oil {with oil is positive volition} with their lamps {volition}."

{2nd Advent}
25:5~~"When the bridegroom {Jesus} took His time in coming {they will be impatient for Jesus' return}, they all became drowsy and fell asleep."

25:6~~"And at midnight, there kept on being a continuous cry/shout {hearing the cheers as He comes closer to the 'house'}, 'Look, the Bridegroom . . . come out to meet Him.' "

25:7~~"Then all the virgins received awaking {from the shouts} and trimmed their own lamps {each virgin had free will and therefore were responsible for their own lamps}."

25:8~~"The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.'"

{Note: Principal is you have to make your own decisions. No one can make it for you.}

25:9~~"But the wise said, 'No! There will not be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves {you have to have your OWN oil/salvation decision you can not 'borrow' someone else's salvation!}.' "

25:10~~"But while they had gone to buy it, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with Him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut."

25:11~~"Later, the other virgins came too, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open the door for us.' "

25:12~~"But He {Jesus} replied, 'I tell you the truth, I do not know you! {no relationship with the unbelievers}' "

25:13~~"Therefore {unbelievers} be ready, because you do not know the day or the hour {when the Son of Man comes}."

{Note: The KJV adds 'when the son of Man comes' but this is not in the original Greek - but of course it is what it means.}

{Verses 14-30: The Parable of the Talents -
  Emphasizes Divine Production}
25:14~~"For it is like a Man {Jesus}
going on a journey
  {Jesus Christ going to heaven for the period after His 1st Advent}, who summoned His slaves/servants
  {Jewish Tribulational believers}
and entrusted His assets
  {The Word of God - responsibility to evangelize again in the
  Tribulation goes back to the Jews}
to them."

25:15~~"To one He gave five talents . . . to another two . . . and to another one {an unbeliever} . . . each according to his ability. Then He {Jesus} went on his journey."

{Note: The first two slaves are believers - but as we will see believers generate different amounts of divine good production. The third is an unbeliever who can not possibly generate ANY divine good - which only comes via the filling of the Holy Spirit.}

25:16~~"The one who had received five talents went off right away and put his money to work and gained five more."

{Note: This is a productive believer in the Tribulation. In this case, witnessing.}

25:17~~"In the same way, the one who had two gained two more."

25:18~~"But the one who had received one talent went out and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money in it {only believers can be productive}."

25:19~~"After a long time, the master of those slaves came and settled His accounts with them."

25:20~~"The one who had received the five talents came and brought five more, saying, 'Lord, you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.' "

25:21~~"His master answered, 'Well done, good {good of intrinsic value - divine good} and faithful {human side of it - his consistency and stability} servant! You have kept on being faithful over a few things. I {Jesus} will put you 'in charge of'/'ruler over' many things. Enter into the joy of your master {sharing the happiness of the Lord - here is specifically referring to ruling with Christ in the millennium}.' "

25:22~~"The one with the two talents also came, saying, 'Master, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have gained two more.' {also rewarded at the 2nd Advent just before the Baptism of Fire}"

 25:23~~"His master answered, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.' "

25:24~~"Then the one who had received the one talent came, saying, 'Lord, I knew that You

were a hard man {a lie from an unbeliever who did NOT know the Lord and rejected Him}, harvesting where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed {cosmic viewpoint}, 25:25~~ so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground.' "

{Note: From calling the Lord a hard man, we can deduce that this unbeliever was 'religious'. A religious person looks at life (and te Lord) from Human Viewpoint - sweetness and light -knowledge of the tree of (human) good and (human) evil - the alternative plan of Satan. But this 'do-gooder' rejects the dogmatism and 'in your face' teaching of the Lord - calling Him 'hard'. Probably been 'working' all his life for salvation . . . keeping the Mosaic Law for salvation . . . being baptized for salvation . . . giving money to the Church for salvation . . . but NO FAITH in Christ - where God does all the work and gives to you freely by grace . . . all you do is BELIEVE.}

25:26-27~~"And his Master {Jesus} answered, 'Evil and lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I didn't sow and gather where I didn't scatter? 25:27~~then if you had deposited my money with the bankers - and you did not {2nd class conditional if} - on my return I would have received my money back with interest!"

25:28~~"Therefore take the talent {opportunity for divine production} from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents."

{Note: The mature believer with 5 and now 10 talents will get greater rewards in the millennium and on. The unbelievers will lose their opportunity to ever be saved and to ever produce divine good. The decision for salvation is only for time . . . not for eternity. In view here, are the believing Jews of the Tribulation.}

25:29~~"For the one who has {production} will be given more, and he will have abundance {a marvelous prosperity beyond what we can imagine}. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him."

25:30~~"And throw that worthless slave/servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' "

{Note: RBT says the outer darkness is from the smoke of the lake of fire.}

{The Gentile Baptism of Fire - Now the Gentiles come back into Jesus' teaching}
25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory {2nd Advent} and all the angels with Him, then He {Jesus} will sit on His glorious throne."

25:32~~"Then all the Gentiles {ethnos} will be assembled before Him {Jesus}, and He will separate them {individuals} . . . one {person} from another . . . like a shepherd {Christ} separates the sheep {believers} from the goats {a different in species creature - unbelievers}."

{Note: Ethnos from which we get 'ethnic' should be translated gentiles when it refers to people as individuals. If it were a collective concept in view, such as in groups, then nations would be the correct translation.}

25:33~~"He will put the sheep on His right {side of honor/approbation} and the goats on His left."

25:34~~"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by My Father . . . inherit the kingdom {of the millennium} prepared in the past with results that last forever . . . for you from the foundation of the world."

25:35-36~~"For I {Jesus} was hungry and you gave Me food . . . I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in . . .25:36~~ I was naked and you gave Me clothing . . . I was sick and you took care of Me . . . I was in prison and you visited Me.' "

25:37-38~~"Then the righteous will answer Him saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? 25:38~~ When did we see You a stranger and invite You in, or naked and clothe you? 25:39~~ When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?' "

25:40~~"And the King will answer them and say, 'I tell you the truth, just as you have done it for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you have done it for Me.' "

{Note: See Revelation Chapter 6:17 and into Chapter 7. At the point of the Rapture, there are now no saved people on the earth. 144,000 Jews accept Christ as Savior and are scattered all over the earth and evangelize Jews and Gentiles successfully. Remember there will be some 'mark of the beast' . . . maybe an invisible ID. And, without this ID you can not buy food or clothing. So this verse refers to the believers who help, feed, cloth, heal, visit in prison the 144,000 evangelists. The evangelists are the 'least of these brothers of Mine' in view here.}

25:41 "Then He will say to those on His left {condemnation of the goats/unbelievers}, 'Depart from Me, you accursed {cursed in the past with the result that you remain cursed forever}, into the everlasting fire {baptism of fire} that has been prepared {prepared in the past at the point of Satan's fall} for the devil and his angels {Satan's fallen angels}!"

25:42-43~~"For I {Jesus} was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink. 25:43~~ I was a stranger and you did not receive Me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' "

25:44~~"Then they too will answer, 'Lord, when did We see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not give you whatever you needed?' "

25:45~~"Then He will answer them, 'I tell you the truth, just as you did not do it for one of the least of these {144,000 evangelists}, you did not do it for Me.' "

25:46~~"And these {individual unbelieving gentiles} will depart into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life."
