21:1 through Chapter 22-5: The Eternal State}

1-5: Final Description of the Eternal State}
1-2^^And
he

showed

river of the water of life,
clear/glistening/bright

as

coming
out from {ekporeuomai}
the
throne of God {the Father}
and
from the Lamb {God the Son} . . . 2^^
in
the middle of the street.
So
on either side of the river . . .
{was}
the tree of life
{the second monument, guarantee of eternal life in the eternal
state},
bearing
twelve categories of fruit,
yielding
its fruit every month
{the variety of blessings for each month of the year in the eternal
state}.
And
the leaves of the trees . . .
{are}
for the healing of the nations.
{Note: The eternal state is guaranteed by the water of life forever, and just as the rainbow was God's guarantee that the earth would never again be destroyed by water, so the water of life is the eternal guarantee of the eternal state. The river runs down the middle of the street from which the throne of God the Father and God the Son is located. They are the source. Hence, the street, which begins at the throne, is divided by a median and the median is the river of life. The presence of the tree of life is the second symbolic guarantee that all believers in the eternal state, cannot lose it, couldn't lose it in time, can't lose it in eternity.}

3-6: The Perfection of Eternity Future}

Furthermore
the throne of God {the Father}

of the Lamb {God the Son}
shall
be in it.

His servants/slaves shall serve him.
{Note: During the Millennial reign of Christ the curse was lifted from planet earth, that is from nature, but not from people. People still had their old sin natures. Man was still born with the old sin nature, the body of corruptibility, and the concept of total depravity. The demonstration of the Millennial reign of Christ is that man in total depravity cannot enjoy perfect environment. The difference in the eternal state from the Millennium is now 'perfect people in perfect environment', so that perfect environment will be enjoyed by perfect people with perfect capacity.}

4~~And,
they shall see His face

His royal title/name
shall
be on their foreheads.

there shall no longer be night there.
Furthermore

need of light of a lamp,
nor
the light of the sun.

will
give them light {He will illuminate them}

"These

Therefore
the Lord {God the Holy Spirit - II Corinthians 3:17-18}. . .

God of the spirits of the prophets . . .

to
make known to his servants
the
things {prophecies}
which
must soon
{tachos - meaning soon but since there is no prophecy to be
fulfilled until the Rapture of the Church, soon could mean John's
day, our day, or 10,000 years from now - all this means is that the
Rapture of the Church is imminent.}

to pass.
7~~Therefore,
behold I {Jesus} come soon
{'soon' in that there is no other prophecy in the way - His coming is
next prophetical event}.
Happy

{meaning the book of Revelation and the entire Canon of Scripture

{Note: Houtos is the near demonstrative - this book - means the emphasis is on THIS book - not just any book.}

heard these things."

when I heard and saw,

fell down to worship at the feet of the angel

{Note: In emotionalism, John worships the communicator/messenger instead of the message.}

"Don't

{idiom: horao means 'panoramic view' with the negative 'me' -
literally 'see not'}
For
I am/'keep on being' your fellow servant,
along
with your brethren the prophets,
and
along with those
who
keep the doctrines of this book.
Worship

10~~Then
he {the angel} instructed {lego} me {John},
"Do
not seal up {sphragizo} the doctrines/words
of
the prophecy of this book
for
the time is near {eggus}."
{Note: The time is near here in 96 AD and it is near today. This is the doctrine of the immanency of the Rapture of the Church - no other prophecy comes before the rapture.}
{Note: 'Seal up' is the ingressive aorist tense of sphragizo. The ingressive aorist tense means it contemplates the action of the verb at its beginning, hence it denotes entrance into a state or condition. With the negative 'me' it prohibits the sealing of the book of Revelation. Why? Because what John has been doing is writing these things down and sending them across the water to the seven churches of the book of Revelation. After he gets through with it he seals it and sends it as his sermon. It is like mailing something. Don't seal it! This book is very important it is going to be a part of the canon of scripture. The active voice: John as the human author is commanded not to produce the action, not to seal the book. Revelation is therefore said to be an open book, not a closed one. Therefore it is a book that can be understood. Any book in the Bible can be understood by someone who has advanced enough to understand it, and any book in the Bible can be taught by one who has the gift of pastor-teacher.}

{Note: RBT says this is the equivalent sentiment to Deuteronomy 6:4 - hear oh Israel Jehovah is Elohiym (His deity forever - Alpha Glory) . . . Jehovah is Unique (His Unique Hypostatic Union forever - Omega Glory.)}.

{refers to rebound (I John 1:9) and living in fellowship with God},

order that they may have their right to the tree of life

{Note: In the KJV verse 14 has 'who keep His commandments'. But that is a textual problem based on using the less reliable Vulgate and the Syriac. RBT says the better text is Codex Aleph and Codex A, which is called the Alexandrinas. So here is really the articular present active participle of plenoo, which means to wash. The corrected translation is, "Blessed are they who wash . . ." The definite article is used for a plural pronoun. The perfective present tense denotes what has come to be in the past but is recognized as a present reality. The active voice: the believer produces the action. The participle is circumstantial for the reward of mature believers in the eternal state. The next phrase is the accusative plural direct object, from stoli meaning "robes." So: "Happy are they who wash their robes. So, this sentence refers to mature believers who rebound and stay in fellowship as much as possible allowing God to guide their lives."}

Jesus, have sent My angel

{Note: The bright morning star" refers to our Lord Jesus Christ as the ruler of the Church. It was prophesied by Balaam in Numbers 24:17 when he said, "I see him (Christ), but not now; I behold him, but not near; a star shall come forth from Jacob, and a scepter shall rise from Israel."}

Salvation Invitation}
17~~Both
the Spirit
{doctrines of Common and Efficacious Grace

'Come.' {Invitation to believe and come into salvation}

{Note: Common grace is the evangelistic ministry of the Holy Spirit up to the point of human volition - it allows a human with no human spirit to understand the decision - the inhale of the gospel. Efficacious grace is the evangelistic ministry of God the Holy Spirit related to positive volition of the unbeliever - the exhale of faith - He makes salvation effective.}

The last word of the Old Testament was "cursed". We end
now with being blessed. Oh what a difference a Testament makes!
