Zechariah
Chapter
6
{Vision
of the Four Chariots} {Note: The ingredients of a chariot: a horse, the iron wheel, and iron. The chariot had the concept of a super weapon when properly used. There are four chariots in this vision and the difference is going to be in the horses. Four represents compass direction. Same concept as the 'four corners' of the world and four hemispheres.} {Note: RBT says one of these two mountains is Zion, the other is the Mount of Olives. Between these two is the valley of Jehoshaphat, which is simply, "Jehovah judges." In order to protect the Jews He is going to use the four chariots. The mountains are called mountains of brass for the simple reason that to protect Israel God must judge those who are antagonistic to Israel.}
{Verses
2-3: Description of the Chariots} {Note: RBT says that red speaks of war and bloodshed. During the time there is a wall of fire around Jerusalem the rest of the world is having war and bloodshed. The Jews who stay in Babylon will see that war and bloodshed.} {Note: 'Black horses' refers to famine and economic disaster - the Jews in Jerusalem will see prosperity, those in Babylon - starvation.} {Note: 'White horses' represent victory and triumph. Victory has to do with God's protection of the Jews. God will protect the Jews inside the wall of fire (for us today the wall of fire means to operate within His divine viewpoint via understanding His Word).} {Note: 'Grizzled and bay' are two different colored horses. Grizzled are spotted horses which is referring to disease, plague and epidemic. 'Bay' is a horse with a redish-brown body and a black mane and tail. This refers to the concept of salvation where cursing is turned to blessing. Redish-brown refers to the blood of Christ and the black refers to the judgement of Christ.} {Note: The far fulfillment of this passage is in Revelation 6 and 7. Red horses - warfare in the Tribulation (Revelation 6:4). Black horses - famine and economic disaster in the Tribulation (Revelation 6:5,6). White horse - the tremendous empire building and conquests of the Tribulation (Revelation 6:2). Grizzled horse - disease and epidemic (Revelation 6:8). Bay horse - evangelism in the Tribulation (Revelation 7:9-14).}
{Prophet's
Question} {Note: RBT says this is like the angel is playing a movie for Zechariah. The angel stops the film when Zechariah asks questions.}
5~~And
the {teaching} angel answered and said unto me, {Note: RBT says spirits in the plural usually refers to angels. Spirit in the singular usually refers to the human spirit. The Holy Spirit refers to the Third Person of the Godhead. Fallen angels are called 'unclean spirits'. Here the 'four spirits' are four categories of elect angels administering divine commands to keep history in line with God's promises. They basically neutralize the fallen angels who are active in any of the four hemispheres of the world when it is God's will for them to do so. There are also four angel judgments in the tribulation (see Revelation 6 and 7. These are the categories of angels who are part of those judgments. See Psalms 68:17, 104:4; Hebrews 1:7, 1:14 (guardian/ministering spirits); Matthew 10:1 Mark 6:7; Acts 5:16 Revelation 16:13,14, I Peter 3:19}
{Verses
6-7: Operation of the Four Chariots (Actual Function)} {Note: 'North' always referred to Babylon in the ancient world because you always had to go north to get there. It means there is economic disaster coming to Babylon. Principle: If you put something before doctrine, that something is going to hurt you. If you are going to enjoy the details of life you must have doctrine flowing into the facets of the soul. 'White horse' refers to the victory of the Persians who hit Babylon and destroyed it. 'Grizzled' means that epidemics result.} {Note: 'South country' refers to Egypt (see Jeremiah 42). When the Jews went into the 5th cycle of discipline in 586 BC a remnant was left in the land. Jeremiah was with them and the governor was Gedaliah. The remnant of Jews murdered Gedaliah, revolted against Chaldea, and went into Egypt. Jeremiah warned them not to go down into Egypt or God would judge them - they went anyway, kidnapping Jeremiah for 'protection' from God (haha). So Jeremiah went with them and died there later in Egypt. So the grizzled horse (disease, plague and epidemic) hits the Jews who went into Egypt.}
{Instructions
for Operation Bay Horse} {Note: 'The bay' represents 'operation evangelism'. 518 BC was the year of maximum evangelism. The bay didn't go north and didn't go south instead 'through the earth' which means world wide evangelism.}
{Judgment
of the North Country} {Note: Ruwach means spirit, but also means anger or wrath and that is in view here. If the Jews stay in Babylon contrary to God's Word to return to Jerusalem at this time, then they will feel the wrath of God. Believers must stay within the geographic will of God.}
{Source
of the Message} {Note: Again the principle of dual fulfillment is in this passage. Zechariah has a message for the people of his own day - the coronation of Joshua the high priest. Then a future prophetic message for the people living at the end of the tribulation - the coronation of the Lord Jesus Christ after His 2nd Advent.}
11~~Then
take silver and gold, {Note: The three men in verse 10 heeded Zechariah's teaching and returned from Babylon. The crown of the High Priest did not come back with them from Babylon. So, there three provided the funds for the new crown and it was a 'double crown'. It was a crown that had never been worn before. Joshua wore it once at his coronation and that was it. Before this the high priest had always worn a single crown and it always had on it, "Holiness Unto The Lord." But this crown is different, it is a double crown. The double crown represents the combination forever of the two crowns of King and High Priest in One forever and ever. This will be fulfilled at the 2nd Advent when Jesus becomes King of Kings and He is our High Priest forever already. By the way, 'Jesus' is our transliteration of a Greek word. The Hebrew equivalent for 'Jesus' is Joshua. They both mean 'savior'.}
{Verses
12-13: Parenthetical Dissertation on Jesus Christ - The Branch} {Note: The Root of the tree is Jesus Christ. He is the founder of the Jewish race. He called Abraham out of Ur of the Chaldees. But the 5th cycle of discipline made the tree a stump and Jesus Christ grows out of the stump and He becomes the Branch Who will fulfil the unconditional covenants to Israel at the 2nd Advent.}
13~~Even
He shall build the temple of Jehovah/God
{Purpose
of the Crowns}
15~~And
they that are far off shall come ************************************************** Joshua_Sozo and Syndein are the Trademarks of Syndein a California DBA of Kenneth Sidley & Associates, Inc., a California Corporation.
