Chapter 7 (Continued)
20~~And
of the ten horns that were in his head,
and
of the other which came up
{the little horn - the Dictator of the Revived Roman Empire - see
notes above},
and
before whom three fell . . .
even
of that horn that had eyes
{eyes refer to intelligence - this Beast Dictator will be a mental
genius},
and
a mouth that spoke very great things {eloquent of speak},
whose
look was more stout than his fellows {arrogance of soul}.
21-22~~I
beheld, and the same horn
made
war with the saints,
{see also Revelation 17 and II Thessalonians 2:7-12}
and
prevailed against them . . . 22~~
{the temporary success of the Dictator over believers in the
Tribulation - in Revelation 17 we see the Dictator assumes the role
of 'Universal Religious Leader' and will persecute true believers}
until
the 'Ancient of Days' came,
{the Eternal One - this time refers to the 2nd Member of the
Godhead - Jesus Christ}
and
judgment was given to the saints of the Most High.
And
the time came
that
the saints possessed the kingdom."

23~~Thus
he {interpreting angel} said,
"The
fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth,
which
shall be diverse from all kingdoms,
and
shall devour the whole earth,
and
shall tread it down,
and
break it in pieces.
{Note: Doctrine of Intercalation (means to 'insert a period of time'). This is the Principle of the Great Parenthesis - Between Daniel 2 verses 40 and 41 we have 'The Great Parenthesis'. Chronologically, this would be where the Church Age would be found. It was a mystery to the Old Testament Believers - the time of Judah's 5th cycle of discipline. This also occurs in Daniel 7 between verses 23 and 24 (here); Daniel 9:26 in the middle of the verse; Daniel 11 between verses 35 and 36; Psalms 22 between verses 22 and 23; and Isaiah 61 between 1 and 2.}

the ten horns out of this kingdom
are
ten kings that shall arise
and
another shall rise after them
and
he shall be different from the first,
and
he shall subdue three kings.

he shall speak great words
against
the Most High,
and
shall wear out {kill} the saints of the Most High,
and
think to change times and laws.

times {2 years}

the dividing of time {another half year}.
26~~
But the judgment shall sit {Baptism of Fire again},
and
they shall take away his {Beast Dictator's} dominion,
to
consume and to destroy it unto the end.

27~~And
the kingdom and dominion,
and
the greatness of the kingdom
under
the entire/whole heaven,
shall
be given to the people
of
the saints of the Most High,
{Jews of the Tribulation and Millennium}
whose
kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and
all dominions shall serve and obey Him {Jesus Christ}.

far . . . the end of the matter.
As
for me, Daniel,
my
cogitations/thoughts much troubled me,
and
my countenance changed
'as
a result of what was happening inside his soul'/'in me' . . .
but
I kept the matter in my heart/'right lobe'."
{Note: Daniel kept the information secret. This is 10 years before the fall of the Chaldean Empire - there is no one with positive volition with whom he can share doctrine. Sometimes in history doctrine is not taught because there is no one with the positive volition to hear. Daniel just wrote this down and we have it still today.}
{Note: Daniel 7 tells us that there WILL be wars and rumors of wars until He comes. Once Christ returns, then there can be universal peace. Until then, be prepared militarily.}
