Deuteronomy
Chapter
13
1
If there arise among you a prophet,
or
a dreamer of dreams,
and
gives you a sign or a wonder, 2
and
the sign or the wonder come to pass,
whereof
he spoke unto you, saying,
Let
us go after other gods/elohiym,
which
you have not known,
and
let us serve them; 3
you
shall not 'hear, listen and obey' {shama'}
unto
the words/'doctrinal communications' {dabar}
of
that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams.
For
Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead proves/tests you,
to
know whether you love Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead
with
all your heart/'right lobe' and with all your soul.
4
You shall Walk after Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead,
and
fear/respect Him,
and
guard/keep His commandments,
and
obey His voice,
and
you shall serve Him,
and
cleave unto Him.
5~~
But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams
shall
be put to death,
because
he has counseled rebellion
against
Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead
Who
brought you from the land of Egypt
and
redeemed you from the house of slavery,
to
seduce you from the Way
in
which Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead
commanded
you to Walk.
So
shall you put the evil away from the midst of you.
6
If your brother, the son of your mother,
or
your son, or your daughter,
or
the wife of your bosom,
or
your friend, who is as your own soul,
entice
you secretly, saying,
Let
us go and serve other gods/elohiym,
which
you have not known, you, nor your fathers . . . 7
namely,
of the gods/elohiym of the people
who
are round about you,
near
unto you, or far off from you,
from
the one end of the earth
even
unto the other end of the earth; 8
you
shall not consent unto him,
nor
'hear, listen and obey' {shama'} unto him;
neither
shall your eye pity him,
neither
shall you spare,
neither
shall you conceal him . . . 9
but
you shall surely kill him.
Your
hand shall be first upon him to put him to death,
and
afterwards the hand of all the people.
{Note:
Jesus said 'I have not come for peace . . . but with a sword to
divide families and friends'. This verse is that principle. The ONLY
division shall be between believers and unbelievers. If someone tries
to entice you to worship another god, then separate yourself from him
is the rule for the church age.}
10
And you shall stone him with stones, that he die;
because
he has sought to thrust you away
from
Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead,
Who
brought you out of the land of Egypt,
from
the house of bondage.
11
And all Israel shall hear, and fear,
and
shall do no more any such wickedness
as
this is among you.
12
If you shall hear say in one of your cities,
which
Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead
has
given you to dwell there, saying, 13
Certain
men, the 'children of Belial',
{these are worshipers of Baal - it is also used as an idiom
from anyone in revolt from God and His Word - reversionism}
are
gone out from among you,
and
have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city,
saying,
Let us go and serve other gods/elohiym,
which
you have not known; 14
then
shall you inquire, and make search, and ask diligently;
and,
behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain,
that
such abomination is wrought among you; 15
you
shall surely smite the inhabitants of that city
with
the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly,
and
all that is therein, and the cattle thereof,
with
the edge of the sword.
16
And you shall gather all the spoil of it
into
the midst of the street thereof,
and
shall burn with fire the city,
and
all the spoil thereof every whit,
for
Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead.
And
it shall be an heap forever;
it
shall not be built again.
17
And there shall cleave nothing
of
the cursed thing
{cherem - this is the type of curse that 'can not be redeemed'
Jericho was cherem, and Jesus voluntarily became cherem
for all mankind}
to
your hand.
That
Jehovah/God may turn from the fierceness of his anger,
and
show you mercy, and have compassion upon you,
and
multiply you, as He has sworn unto your fathers.
18
When you shall 'hear, listen and obey' {shama'}
to
the voice of Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead,
to
guard/keep all His commandments which I command you this day,
to
do that which is right
'in
the eyes of Jehovah/God' your 'Elohiym/Godhead.
{Note:
In the eyes of God is an idiom for Divine Viewpoint. You can either
operate on human viewpoint - your own creature thinking that you or
other creatures thought up OR operate on Divine Viewpoint - by
replacing the norms and standards in your soul with that taught by
God through the diligent and consistent intake of His Word.}
