because
Jehovah/God had said
He
would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
24
Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number,
but
he finished not,
because
there fell wrath for it against Israel;
neither
was the number
put
in the account of the chronicles of king David.

a
wise man, and a scribe.
And
Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king's sons.
33a~~And
Ahithophel was the king's counselor.
{Ahithophel was Bathsheba's grandfather. He was a
'Super-Genius' and the Secretary of State type for David.
but he actually was the brains of the Absalom revolution
and David prayed for God to frustrate his counsel to
Absalom in II Samuel 15:31}
33b~~And
Hushai the Archite
was
the king's 'friend of the same category' {an aristocrat}.
{in answer to David's prayer . . . see II Samuel 15:32 -
where Hushai and David meet as David is leaving Jerusalem
ahead of the Absalom revolution.
Hushai will be a CIA agent for David.}
34
And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar.
And
