Isaiah
Chapter 06
1-3~~In
the year that king Uzziah died,
I
saw the Lord/'Adonay sitting on a throne . . .
lofty
and exalted,
with
the train of His robe filling the temple.
Seraphim
stood above Him,
each
having six wings;
with
two he covered his face,
and
with two he covered his feet,
and
with two he flew.
And
one called out to another, and said,
"Holy,
Holy, Holy,
is
Jehovah/God of the armies/hosts,
the
whole earth is full of his glory. "

And the posts of the door moved
at
the voice of him who cried,
and
the house was filled with smoke.
5
Then I said,
"Woe
is me!
For
I am undone . . .
because
I am a man of unclean lips,
and
I dwell in the middle of a people of unclean lips . . .
for
my eyes have seen the King . . .
Jehovah/God
of the armies/hosts."

Then one of the seraphim flew to me . . .
having
a live coal in his hand . . .
which
he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.
7
And he laid it upon my mouth,
and
said, "Lo, this has touched your lips
and
your 'punishment for sin'/iniquity {`avon}
is
taken away,
and
your sin purged."
8``Also
I heard the voice of the Lord/'Adonay, saying,
"Whom
shall I send?
And
who will go for us?"
Then
I said, "Here am I . . . send me."

And He said,
"Go,
and tell this people . . .
'Hearing
. . . you hear {the teaching of doctrine}'
{shama` shama` - doubling is very intense - and one is in the
imperative mood - meaning it is an order - shama` means to 'hear,
listen and obey'}
'discerning
doctrine' {biyn} not . . .
'seeing
and perceiving doctrine {ra'ah} not . . .
and
'understanding from study or experience' {yada`} . . . not.
10a
Make the heart/'right lobe'/'thinking'
of
this people fat/prosperous.
{means they keep their eyes on the details of life instead of
keeping their eyes on the 'Source' of the details}
10b
And make their ears heavy
{idiom meaning having deaf ears - they are not listening to
doctrine}
and
shut their eyes
{means they are not watching the visual teaching of doctrine
through rituals or writing}
lest
they see with their eyes,
and
hear with their ears,
and
understand with their heart/'right lobe',
and
convert/'change their minds',
and
be healed.
11``
Then I said, "Lord/'Adonay, how long?"
And
He answered,
"Until
the cities be wasted without inhabitant,
and
the houses without man,
and
the land be utterly desolate, 12
and
Jehovah/God has removed men far away,
and
there be a great forsaking in the middle of the land.
13
But yet in it shall be a tenth,
and
it shall return,
and
shall be eaten . . .
as
a teil tree,
and
as an oak,
whose
substance is in them,
when
they cast their leaves . . .
so
the Holy seed shall
be
the substance thereof.
