{Changing
of the Guard - Paul to Timothy}
1~~I
{Paul} solemnly command you {Timothy and all pastors}
in
the presence of The God {the Father},
and
the Lord Jesus Christ
Who
is destined to evaluate the living and the dead
both
with reference to His appearance {rapture}
and
with reference to His Throne/kingdom {the Great White Throne}.
{Note: The living here are those believers alive at the time of the rapture of the Church. The dead are those who are dead in Christ.}
{Carry
On Commands to Pastor-Teachers - The New Guard}
2~~Proclaim
the word {teach doctrine}.
Be
alert {study the Word}.
When
it is a good time {convenient}
and
when it is a bad time {not convenient}.
Discipline,
reprimand,
and
encourage . . .
by
means of steadfastness {unchangeable purpose-study and teach} and by
means of doctrine.
{Verse
3-4 Doctrines of Reversionism and Evil}
3~~For
the time will come when they {the reversionists}
will
not 'listen to willingly'/endure sound doctrine,
but
according to their own lusts
they
will accumulate to themselves {false} teachers
because
they have an itch
in
their faculty of hearing {itchy ears - malfunction of GAP}.
4~~In
fact they will continue to turn away their ears
from
the truth/doctrine {negative volition toward Bible Doctrine}
then
they will swerve out of control
toward
myths/fables {myths of evil}.
{Note: No believer stands still. If you are negative to the Word of God, you will move into the alternative plan offered by Satan - myths of evil.}

5~~But
you, especially you {Timothy and other pastors},
be
self-disciplined in all things {everything in a pastor's life is
subordinated to the study and teaching of bible doctrine},
endure
opposition from evil,
execute
the high quality function of a traveling missionary/evangelist {set
up indigenous Churches},
and,
completely carry out your own ministry.
{Paul's
knows he will die soon - Verses 6-8}
6~~For
you see even now I am being poured out . . .
a
libation {dying grace}, and
the
time of my departure/release {from life}
is
eminent/'at hand'/'standing by'.
{Note: The death of an UltraSuperGrace believer is so easy in dying grace that Paul compares it to pouring out a drink from a cup. Easy, great, no problem!}

7~~I
{Paul} have fought that honorable fight.
I
have completed my course {of Phase II - the end of his life
is coming . . . about to receive dying grace}.
I
have preserved/guarded the doctrine {in my soul - syntax says
he is guarding something he owns}.
{Note: Paul has fought the good/honorable fight. He has taken in doctrine on a daily/consistent basis. He has faithfully taught his sheep. He has attained and held the high ground of SuperGrace and UltraSuperGrace. And, he has protected and guarded doctrine by 'rightly dividing the Word of Truth'. His reward for attaining UltraSuperGrace is in the next verse.}
{Reward
for UltraSuperGrace Believers - Wreath of Righteousness (dikaiosune)}
8~~In
the future {Phase III, - eternity future},
a
wreath/crown of that righteousness {dikaiosune
-Total fulfillment of Spiritual progress - breaking the maturity barrier}
is
reserved for me {Paul},
which
{wreath} the Lord {Jesus Christ} . . .
the
righteous evaluator/judge {perfect, objective evaluation}
will
award me on that day.
And
not only to me {SuperGrace Paul},
but
also to all those {SuperGrace and UltraSuperGrace believers}
who
have loved {agapao} His appearance.
{Note: At the time of teaching II Timothy, RBT is learning more and more about the wreaths of the mature believers and Surpassing Grace in eternity future. At this time, he compares the three wreaths to the Medal of Honor. In Revelation (end of chapter 2 and on into chapter 3), RBT learns that the Order of the Morning Star is like our Medal of Honor and these three wreaths are more like being awarded the Silver Star.}
{Note: At this point, RBT is stating that the wreath of righteousness is awarded to all who crack the maturity barrier and stay there. The wreath of life is awarded to the mature believer who advances to UltraSuperGrace. And, the wreath of glory is for the pastor teacher who brings some in his congregation to maturity.}
{Note: Agapao is the verb form of 'agape' - which is category 1 love or 'love for God'. Love for God is only truly possible once you study and study His Mind and come to an understanding of the object (God) of your love.}

dying words of explanation - verses 9-22}
9~~Make
every effort to come face to face with me
without
delay {Paul's request of Timothy}.
{The
deserter in reversionism and two of the faithful going out to
represent Paul}
10~~For
you see,
because
he has loved the present life,
Demas
{Demetrius} has deserted me {gone into reversionism}
and
has gone to Thessalonica.
Crescens
. . . {has gone} to Galatia . . .
Titus
unto Dalmatia.
11~~Luke
is alone with me.
Pick
up Mark {on route to see Paul} and bring him with you.
For
he is useful to me with reference to the ministry.
12~~But
I have sent out Tychicus
to
Ephesus {to replace Timothy who is coming to be with Paul}.
13~~When
you {Timothy} come,
bring
the heavy coat and the scrolls
especially
the parchments
that
I have left behind at Troy with Carpus.
{Paul's
antagonists in his UltraSuperGrace Status mentioned next}
14~~Alexander
the metalsmith has demonstrated
many
categories of evil toward me.
The
Lord will remit to him with reference to his deeds.
{Note: Paul is clearly telling Timothy and others to not interfere with Alexander after Paul dies. Paul is reminding Timothy that the battle is the Lord's and for him to stay clear of the matter.}
15~~Also
with reference to whom {Alexander},
you
. . . yourself {Timothy} . . . be extremely alert.
For
he has greatly resisted {opposed} our doctrines.
{Note: But Paul does go on to warn Timothy to be alert toward Alexander himself for with Paul gone, Alexander is likely to start attacking Timothy now . . . the new Grace leader of the Church.}
{Summary
of Paul's last trial before Nero - Verses 16-17}
16~~In
my most important {trial} defense
{Paul's
last trial before Nero},
no
one made a public appearance in court to testify on my behalf. But
all men {reversionistic believers} abandoned/ deserted me.
May
it NOT be charged to them!
{Note: Paul's personal friends (like Luke and Titus) are not permitted to give testimony in the Roman court because of perceived prejudice in Paul's favor. Other believers who could have testified that Paul was loyal to Rome were too concerned for their own skins to testify before Nero. But Paul is showing his RMA by asking that they not be taken out under the sin unto death that they might have more time for reversion recovery. Paul was not 'upset' with these men who failed him.}
17~~But
the Lord stood by me.
And
the Lord poured power into me
in
order that through me {Paul the herald}
the
proclamation {communication of Church Age Doctrine}
might
be fully/ completely accomplished . . .
even
that all the Gentiles might hear.
In
fact, I was delivered out from the mouth of the lion.
{Note: RBT said that Nero got so upset in Paul's trial that he declared that Paul should be thrown to the lion as many other Christians were. But Paul's defense attorney pointed out that no Roman citizen could be thrown to the lions under Roman Law. Even the Caesar followed Roman Law. So, Paul was saved from the lions to be beheaded later.}

18~~And
the Lord Himself shall rescue/deliver me
from
the source of every evil deed, and
shall
continue to preserve me for His heavenly kingdom . . .
to
Whom {the Lord} is the glory forever and ever. Amen.
19~~Salute
Priscilla and Aquila {a married couple and great believers and
supporters of Paul -see in Acts 18:2},
also
the family/household of Onesiphorus {he refreshed Paul while he was
in prison: II Timothy 1:18}.
20~~Erastus
remained at Corinth.
But
I have left Trophimus {Tychicus and Trophimus were natives of
Ephesus per Acts 20:4} at Miletos because he is sick.
{Note: Erastus is also mentioned in Acts 19:22 and in Romans 16:23 we learn that he was the treasurer of the city. He is most likely a mature believer and close to Paul. Apparently what we are seeing here is the disbursement of the mature believers to the various key cities in the Roman empire and here are a few:
Timothy is at Ephesus: I Timothy 1:3
Titus was at Crete: Titus 1: 4-5 and then Titus went to
Dalmatia: II Timothy 4:10
Trophimus is at Miletos: II Timothy 4:20
Erastus is at Corinth: II Timothy 4:20
Crescens is at Galatia: II Timothy 4:10
Tychicus is coming to Ephesus to replace Timothy:
II Timothy 4:12}

21~~Make
every effort {hurry it up} to come
before
winter {Paul is under condemnation and is beheaded by Nero's orders
in the spring of 68 AD and Nero dies a few months later}. Eubulus
{means 'good counselor' and may have been the legal counsel for Paul
before Nero} greets/salutes you,
also
Pudens {means bashful/modest},
also
Linus {per RBT, tradition says Linus was the pastor of the church in
Rome and the son of Claudia},
also
Claudia {according to historians she was the daughter of an English
king who sent her to Rome to be educated}. . .
also
all the brethren.

22~~The
Lord . . . {be} with your spirit {Timothy}.
The
Grace . . . {be} with all of you. I believe it {Amen}.
{Note: 'The Lord' emphases the 'Living Word' - Jesus. 'With your spirit' emphasizes the Written Word - the Mind of Christ.}
