Jeremiah {Note: Chapter 31 also goes along with Psalm 119. See that Psalm also. Jeremiah is warning the people of what will happen in about 10 years time. These people had rejected bible doctrine. They were under the 4th cycle of discipline. Finally under Chaldea, the Jews went out under the 5th cycle of discipline in August 586BC when King Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem.}

"At the same time," said Jehovah/God,
2
Thus said Jehovah/God,
3
Jehovah/God has appeared of old unto me, saying, Therefore with grace/lovingkindness have I drawn you. 4
Again
I will build you, and you shall be built,
You
shall again be adorned with your tabrets, You shall yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria. The planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things. 6
For
there shall be a day,
7
For thus said Jehovah/God,
Publish
you, praise you, and say, O Jehovah/God, A great company shall return there. 9
They
shall come with weeping,
I
will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way,
For
I am a Father to Israel . . .
10
Hear the word of Jehovah/God,
For
Jehovah/God has redeemed Jacob,
12
Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, And their soul shall be as a watered garden. And they shall not sorrow any more at all. 13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance.
"Both
young men and old together . . .
And
I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness,
15a~~Thus
said Jehovah/God, {Note: Not an ordinary voice, but one of lamentations and screaming and weeping. See also the book of Lamentations which was also written by Jeremiah.}
15b~~Rahel/Rachel
weeping for her children {Note: Rachel was a literal woman but she represented all the women who were weeping over the children that the Chaldeans had put to death. It was the policy of the armies of the ancient world that any baby who had to be carried was killed before a march started.}
16a~~Thus
said Jehovah/God, {Note: A certain amount of crying is understandable. But there comes a time to shut it off and that is what God is telling the believers here. Snap out of it! There is a tough road ahead for them, but they must be on their toes to survive.}
16b~~For
your work shall be rewarded," said Jehovah/God,
And
there is hope in your end," said Jehovah/God, {Note: 'Your work' indicates that the believers were told to stop crying. They had faced the worst things you can imagine (rape, torture, murder of their babies), but they are to rely on Him and His Word. God has promised that someday many of these people would return to their land. The principle of doctrine is 'they are still alive'. If you survive a national disaster and have gone through horrible things, remember God has a purpose for your life!} {Note: RBT says that Jeremiah is prophetically addressing this to the people . . . who included Ezra - the teenage boy who would be abused on this march, then have a great career in Nebuchadnezzar's court, then return the people to the land as an old man, and write Psalm 119 and the Book of Ezra. RBT then suggests that maybe it was actually the story of Ezra's father Seraiah. Then Ezra took his father's files and composed Psalm 119 from his father's notes. Either case is possible.}
18
I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus,
Turn
you me, and I shall be turned . . . 19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented.
And
after that I was instructed,
I
was ashamed, yes, even confounded, 20 "Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child?
For
since I spoke against him, Therefore My emotions/bowels are troubled for him.
I
will surely have mercy/'grace in action' upon him,"
21
Set you up signposts,
Set
your 'right lobe'/heart toward the highway, Turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these your cities.
{Right
man/right woman analogous to the relationship between God and Judah}
For
Jehovah/God has created a new thing in the earth.
A
woman shall 'compass' {perfect embrace that fits} a man.
23
Thus said Jehovah/God of the armies/hosts,
Jehovah/God
bless you,
24
And there shall dwell in Judah itself,
25
For I have satiated the weary soul, 26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld. And my sleep was sweet unto me.
27
"Behold, the days come," said Jehovah/God,
28
And it shall come to pass,
So
will I watch over them . . .
{The
breaking of the 4-generation curse. 2 of the four referenced here} 30~~ "But every one shall die for his own iniquity.
Every
man who eats the sour grape,
{New
Covenant with Israel for the Millennium - Mosaic Law out with the
Church Age}
{Note:
The House of Judah and House of Israel will be reunited at this
point in time.} {Note: The sign of being one of God's people is to have His doctrine in your right lobe - or conscience - to be applied to all experiences in life.}
{Note:
What is the content of the New Covenant to Israel? RBT says:
2) Information in Ezekiel chapters 40-48, Isaiah 65, Joel 2:28-29, 3) Everything pertaining to the millennium.}
{Millennial
Verse - Perfect Environment but still Inequality}
From
the least even to the greatest of them." said Jehovah/God,
{Note:
In the Millennium everyone will know God, but a third will still
reject Him.}
36
"If those ordinances depart from before me,"
37
Thus said Jehovah/God,
38
"Behold, the days come," said Jehovah/God,
39
"And the measuring line shall yet go forth over
And
the whole valley of the dead bodies, It shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever."
