35
{Blessing
of Jaazaniah and the Rechabites}
1-2~~The
word which came unto Jeremiah from the Jehovah/God
in
the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying, 2~~
"Go
unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them,
and
cause them to be brought {don't take no for an answer}
to
the house of Jehovah/God, into one of the chambers,
and
cause them to get drunk/intoxicated
with
wine {alcoholic beverage}."
{Note: The Kenites are referred to as the 'Good Arabs'. The Rechabites are part of the Kenite tribe descended from Hemath (I Chronicles 2:55) and descended from Jethro called the Kenite . . . the father in law of Moses - Judges 1:16. The Rechabites are not drinkers but Jeremiah is commanded by God to command them to get drunk.}
{Note: Per RBT this section goes with Chapter 13 and then continuing in Chapter 22:20-30. It all relates to 'which side of the carpet are you standing on?' Coniah the king stood on the bad side and was cursed. Jaazaniah will stand on the good side and be blessed (he was positive to God and His Word).}
3-4~~Then
I seized Jaazaniah
{had to talk a lot to convince him to come}
the
son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah,
and
his brethren, and all his sons,
and
the whole family/tribe of the Rechabites; 4~~
and
I brought them with a bit of persuasion
into
the house of Jehovah/God,
into
the chamber of the sons of Hanan - the son of Igdaliah -
{Hanan
was} a man of Elohiym/Godhead
{Hanan was a prophet and temple teacher
and a doctrinally oriented man},
who
was by the chamber
of
the princes {rulers of land meet for legislation},
which
was above the chamber of Maaseiah - the son of Shallum -
the
keeper of the door {commander of Temple Guard}
5~~And
I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites
jugs
full of wine,
and
cups {all the tribe of non-drinkers now had wine before them}
and
I said unto them, "You get drunk on the wine."
6~~But
{as everyone was served}
they
said, "We refuse to drink or get drunk on wine now or ever.
For
Jonadab the son of Rechab
our
father commanded {tsavah} us, saying,
'You
shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your sons forever'."
{Note: The use of tsavah here means a command connected with a doctrinal teaching. There was heavy drinking involved with the Phallic Cult. So, RBT means Jonadab commanded his tribe to stay away from the Phallic Cult activities. Now these people are very happy people. They are not tied up in knots over other people drinking, it is just not needed by them - no sublimation necessary.}
7~~
"Neither shall you build houses,
nor
sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have/own any.
But
all your days you shall dwell {in happiness} in tents.
That
you may live {in freedom}
many
days in the land where . . . {you are} strangers."
{Note: For over 240 years, the Kenites lived in the promised land of Israel but lived in tents. They preserved their independence by living in tents. See also I Samuel 15:6. The only thing each built was an 'edification complex in his soul'!}
8~~"Thus
have we obeyed
{heard, concentrated and obeyed}
the
voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father
in
all that he has charged us
to
drink no wine all our days,
we,
our wives {'ishshah},
our
sons, nor our daughters."
{Note: The Rechabites are men are blessed by God! They have their right God! They have their Right Woman! Who needs a house! A Tent is FINE! And, add to that a happy family, and there is no need for possessions or sublimation in drink to be happy!}
9~~"Nor
to build houses for us to dwell in.
Neither
have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed."
{Note: They are not to have houses or farms. They are nomads.}
10~~"But
we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed,
and
done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us."
{Doctrinally
Oriented Men Make Good Decisions}
11~~
But it came to pass,
when
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land,
that
we said, "Come, and let us go to Jerusalem
out
of respect for the army of the Chaldeans,
and
out of respect for the army of the Syrians.
So
we dwell {still in happiness} at Jerusalem.
{Note: Principal: If you have doctrine resident in your soul, your environment does not matter. Doctrine gives you capacity to be happy wherever you are. As Paul said, 'I have LEARNED to be content/happy, no matter my circumstances."}

12-17: Message to the Jews of Judah}
12-13~~
Then came the word of the Jehovah/God
unto
Jeremiah, saying, 13~~
Thus
said the Jehovah/God of the armies/hosts,
the
Elohiym/Godhead of Israel,
"Go
and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
Will
you not 'hurriedly, eagerly seize' {laqach}
'disciplinary
type teaching'
{muwcar - shock treatment style of teaching}
to
hearken to My Words {Bible Doctrine}?" said the Jehovah/God.
{Note: The message to the Jews and us today is look at the Rechabites! Gentiles! And, Arabs! Yet they love My Word! They have 240 years on you, but start now! Return to ME! It is not too late - YET! (about 12 years it turns out). And, it is getting late, so you need HARD TOUGH teaching! Sit, listen, concentrate, obey/accept . . . and apply to experience.}
{Secret
of the Rechabites - Edification Complex In the Soul}
14~~The
doctrine/words of Jonadab the son of Rechab,
that
he taught dogmatically to his sons
-
not to drink wine {along with other doctrines} -
caused
them to receive 'building up' {quwm - hophal perfect - ECS}
For
unto this day {840 BC to this time 598BC}
they
drink not,
but
'heard, concentrated, and obeyed' their father's commandment.
Notwithstanding
I have 'categorically taught doctrine'
unto
you {God speaks to every generation},
rising
early and speaking.
But
you hearkened not unto me
{Jews of Judea were negative to octrine here}.
{Note: Quwm means to rise up or be built up. The hophal is a causative stem in the Hebrew and here it means that inside of them, they built a structure - called 'an altar of the soul' and an edification complex of the soul. This is a structure of doctrine upon doctrine until you are filled with biblical/divine viewpoint replacing the 'human viewpoint in your soul. As we saw earlier, the doctrine of non-drinking for them related to Phallic Cult activities. So it was really more then one doctrine in view, but drinking is the example given. Drinking is not prohibited. Drinking to excess is a sin.}
15~~I
{God} have sent also unto you
all
My servants . . . the prophets
and
am still sending them,
rising
up early and sending them, saying,
"Return
you now every man
from
his evil way {not interested in the plan/Word of God},
and
'be caused to generate {divine} good'.
And
in your functional pattern,
go
not after other gods/elohiym to serve them.
And
{if you return to God in your thinking},
you
shall dwell in happiness in the 'rich earth' {prosperity}
which
I have given to you and to your fathers.
But
you have not inclined your ear,
nor
hearkened unto Me {God through Jeremiah}."
{Note: Joel was a contemporary of Jonadab, Isaiah, Nahum, Zephaniah - contemporary of Jeremiah, and Jeremiah speaking, and Habakkuk is finishing his ministry. Jeremiah is still living when for 1 year is the ministry of 586 BC Obadiah. These are seven Jewish prophets in the same period as the Rechabites were doctrinally oriented.}
16~~"Because
the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab
have
constructed the commandment of their father
{an edification complex in their souls},
which
he commanded them
{They are interested in the doctrine of the Lord} . . .
but
these people {Jews of Judea}
have
not hearkened unto Me {God through Jeremiah}!"
{Note: The Jews of Judea are going out as a client nation to God. They have no interest in God or the study of His Word - in contrast to the Rechabite Arabs who are interested in God and His Word! The Jews have no capacity to be happy. The Rechabites are being used as an example of being right with God. Instead these Jews are sublimating in alcoholism and Phallic Cult type idolatry/adultery.}

17~~Therefore
thus said Jehovah/God . . .
Elohiym/Godhead
of the armies, the Elohiym/Godhead of Israel,
"Behold,
I will cause to bring upon Judah
and
upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem
all
the evil {whole principal of sublimation - 2 halves - apostasy
and idolatry from free will. Then point of no return -
God disciplines with phase out from Him.}
that
I have constantly 'warned intensely'/'taught dogmatically' AGAINST
them . . .
{stop getting involved in Phallic Cult - the grace warning}
because
I have constantly 'warned intensely'/'taught dogmatically' UNTO them
{grace solution - return to God and His Word},
but
they have not heard {failure of GAP - no study of the Word}.
And
I {God} have called {evangelism included} unto them
{as Right God He initiates the relationship with EVERY PERSON},
but
they have not answered
{as Right People/Woman She should respond to her Right God/Man,
but does not}."
18~~And
Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites,
Thus
said the Jehovah/God of the armies,
the
Elohiym/Godhead of Israel,
"Because
you have listened and obeyed
the
commandment of Jonadab your father,
and
guarded/kept/'watched over'/cherished
all
his precepts/'categorical development of doctrines',
and
manufactured
{`asah - out of something - application of doctrine to experience}
according unto all that he has taught you dogmatically."
19~~"
Therefore thus said Jehovah/God of the armies/hosts,
the
Elohiym/Godhead of Israel.
"Jonadab
the son of Rechab
shall
not have a person cut off {a believer who is positive}
standing
before My face {category I love}."
{Note: All the Rechabites who are positive to God respond to His love. And, in return God will continue to bless them regardless of the circumstances in which they find themselves.}
