{Note: He had an excellent knowledge of doctrine, but he wandered from the Way of God - he was the son of the High Priest so he was expected to be well taught and he was. But, he did not practice what he learned.}
67b~~But now have I kept/guarded Your Word.

are good.
{God is perfect good}

manufactured good out of disaster' {`asah towb}.
{Note: God is perfect. What He does is perfect. So only God can take a believer and put him under horrible disaster conditions and manufacture good out of the situation. And, here the disaster continued! This man was delivered THROUGH the disaster not FROM the disaster.}

me with strong discipline'

Your statutes/'principals and categories of doctrine'.

proud {Chaldean soldiers}

'contrived a lie against'/'falsely accused' me.

{idiom for great pride - they have defeated the Jews and are
wallowing in their victory - they get drunk each night and abuse
the captives - but inside they are miserable - they use
lasciviousness to try and fill that emptiness in their souls where
Divine Viewpoint and the Happiness of God should be.}
{Note: Many of the Chaldeans doing the abuse will see that these believers are taking it and still showing their contentment, RMA, and Happiness. Many Chaldeans will see this and become interested in how this can be and will be evangelized and saved.}

{Note: Remember he learned doctrine but 'wandered'. So, it was through this horrible divine discipline on him and his nation that brought him back to doctrine. He AND the nation will be better for it.}

Law of Your Mouth is better unto me
than
'thousands of gold and silver'/'lots of money'.
{Note: This indicates HOW he wandered. Money must have been first in his list of priorities in life - wanted to be a wealthy businessman. Now he has his priorities in proper order - doctrine is first in his life. Nothing wrong with money, it just can not be first in your life - NOTHING should be first in your life but God and His Word. Period.}

{Note: RBT considers the Yodh file the turning place in the death march. Those who had survived started recalling doctrine that they had learned in their home. {Note: Each morning they never knew which prisoners would survive the night. At dawn the people would look to see if this great bible teacher had survived the night and they were glad to see he had made it and would teach them again this day also. They now looked forward to hearing Bible Doctrine.}

{Note: Remember each night he is tortured and raped and yet he knows he needs to teach the other prisoners the next day - he must keep on moving. The study of the Word is exhausting this teacher of the Word, yet at the same time it brings him comfort is the point.}

like
'a wine-skin in the smoke'/'a dried up wine-skin'.
{Note: The skin under prolonged heat dries up and it cracks and the wine leaks out. If it is there long enough, it is all shriveled up skin. The skin is torn up and shriveled up . . . just like the body of the writer.}

doctrine in categories"/ "Your Statutes".

{Note: The answer is 'one day at a time' . . . as long as God has a purpose for his life - same with all of us.}

{Note: This is putting the matter in the Lord's hands. He is not murdering the first guard he can. That is the biblical method for all personal injustices - God's judgment is perfect - He can handle them better than you!}

Because of the Work of Christ on the Cross, God is free to Love us with a maximum love! So, even when He spanks us as His children, even His discipline is based on love - just as a human parent hurts more than his child when he tans his behind for misbehaving! The discipline is FOR OUR BENEFIT!}

{Notes: Means he is going to accurately teach the Word of God to the other prisoners in this chain gang. He will explain that suffering is nothing to God. He can handle anything. And, with His Word in their souls, they can be delivered THROUGH this great suffering (or FROM the suffering if He so chooses).}

{Note: God's omniscience has always known all the knowable. In eternity past, God the Father presented His plan for the ages. The other members of the Godhead, of Their own free will, agreed to their part of the Plan. All God's logistical support for you in your times of trouble was provided for long before the trouble ever started - it is all covered by the grace and plan of God.}
{Note: The red ox is the Levitical offering for 'rebounding your sins'. It is a 'type' of Jesus Christ on the cross. The point of the ox goad is broken off in the Lord Jesus Christ at the cross. He bore our sins and we are motivated to confess our sins (and God forgives and forgets them) . . . so WE ALSO MUST forget them, and keep on moving in the More Excellent Way of Jesus Christ (fellowship for believers in the Church Age).}

my affliction.
{Note: On this death march, this writer was kept alive by the bible doctrine resident in his soul. RBT also stated that since we have 22 letters here, we most likely have at least 22 days in the march from Jerusalem to Babylon - and each night this man prepared his message for the march the next day.}
