Psalms
Chapter
127
1a~~{Title}'A
Psalm of Solomon Going up the Steps of the Temple'
{shiyr ma`alah - referring 'meditation for going into Church/Temple'
on each step, Solomon would quote a verse, then move up to the
next step - a step at a time
it is literally translated 'A Song of Degrees for Solomon'}
{Solomon
on the First Step Says:}
1b~~Unless
Jehovah/God builds {banah} the temple,
its
builders labor in vain.
Unless
Jehovah/God guards the city,
the
police/watchman stands guard in vain.
{Solomon
moves to the next Step and Says:}
2~~In
vain, you get up early and stay up late.
And
work hard for a living . . .
because
He only can give blessing
to
'His beloved'
{see II Samuel 12:25: Nathan told David Solomon's nickname
would be 'Beloved of God - Jedidiah - Solomon was told this and
now he is referring to it}
in
sleep.
3``Sons
are the provision of Jehovah/God . . .
the
fruit of the womb, his reward.
4``Like
arrows in the hand of the warrior
are
sons born to a man in his youth.
5``
Happy is the man who fills his quiver with them;
they
shall not be put to shame
when
they contend with the enemy in the gate.
