Ham and Japheth. Then came the new race of the Jews - the
Semitic race was split into two. The Jewish race is unique.
2. Unique nation of Israel.
3. The vast majority of the writers of the Bible were Jewish.
4. Unique covenants/unconditional promises from God to the Jews.
5. They are the only nation promised existence and a specific piece
of real estate by God.}

{Note: This verse explains Psalm 14. To be righteous you have to be perfect. No person on earth is or ever has been or can be perfect - except our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Psalm was to explain to the Jew that they need a Savior just as all of mankind needed a Savior. Dikaios meaning righteous. Applied to man it means to 'fulfill your duty toward God'. Applied to God, it relates to God's integrity or a part of His righteousness. Nothing man can do can even approach the integrity of God. So the righteousness here is God's righteousness and on his own, no man is righteous - we all need Jesus Christ.}

{Note: Ara means to have a curse in your mouth for someone. So it comes to mean to express thoughts of revenge. This is the cobra venom of the soul working itself out and being expressed in the mouth. Verbal sins are the result of mental attitude sins and are deadly - slander, maligning, judging.}

{Note: In the next verse, Paul tells us that the purpose of the Mosaic Law was to explain what sin was and to show the world that we needed a savior. It was not to be distorted into a system of salvation by works.}
{Note: Hupodikos was the word used by the Greeks when a soldier threw away his shield in battle. That was considered being a coward with no defense possible. Therefore a court marshal and execution were immediate and the outcome known. So hupodikos was used to indicate there would be a trial, but the guilty outcome was certain.}

Therefore, by means of the works/deeds of the {Mosaic} law

be justified/vindicated/'declared righteous' {dikaio}

When applied to God, it means His perfect integrity or one of the parts of His perfect integrity - His righteousness or His justice. His righteousness is the principal of His integrity. His justice is the function of His integrity.}
