Ezekiel
Chapter 31
1``And
it came to pass
in
the eleventh year,
in
the third month,
in
the first day of the month,
that
the word/'doctrinal communication' {dabar} of Jehovah/God
came
unto me, saying, 2``
"'Son
of man'/mortal,
say
to Pharaoh, king of Egypt,
and
to his hordes/multitude;
'Who
was comparable to you in greatness?'
3~~Behold,
Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon . . .
{'cedar in Lebanon' was used for a prosperous Jewish nation
prospering under a strong pivot of mature believers taking in
doctrine}
with
beautiful branches and with 'forest shade'
{this is client nation of God prosperity that overflows to other
nations},
and
high stature of stature
{a standout in the family of nations in the World};
therefore
his top seemed to be among the clouds.
{the highest of nations - could also apply to the US today}
4~~For
the waters
{bible doctrine - water of the Word}
made
him grow.
And
subterranean waters
{doctrine (water of the Word) transferred to the mentality
of the Soul}
made
it high with her rivers
it
continually flowed all around the place where it was planted.
{principal of blessing by association with a client nation to God}
And sent out her channels/'little rivers' to all the trees of the field.
5~~Therefore his height was higher than all the trees of the field.
And
his boughs/branches became many
{prosperous nation}
and
his branches became long
{reference to its military power}
because
of the many waters
{evangelism - spreading the Word},
when
he 'shot forth'/'expanded his empire'.
6~~All
the birds of heaven made their nests in his branches/boughs,
and
under his branches all the animals of the field gave birth
and
all great nations lived under his shade.
{great historical impact of a nation 'watered by the Word'}
7~~Consequently,
he was beautiful in his greatness . . .
in
the length of his branches . . .
{military power}
for,
you see his root/foundation had gone after many waters.
{the Assyrians had drank up the evangelism of the prophet Jonah}
8~~The
'cedars of 'Elohiym/Godhead's gardens
{referring to Israel}
could
not match him.
The
cypress trees
{referring to the Southern Kingdom of Judah}
could
not compare to his boughs.
And
the plain trees
{one stripped of its branches}
were
not like his branches . . .
nor
any tree of 'Elohiym/Godhead's gardens
{referring to any nation in human history}
could
not match his beauty.
9~~I
{Jesus Christ} have made him beautiful . . .
by
the multitude of his branches
so
that all the trees of Eden,
{referring to all the nations of history}
that
were in 'Elohiym/Godhead's gardens,
{referring to World History}
were
jealous of it.
{God gave great power to the nation of Assyria for its faithfulness
to Him and His Word the same is true of the US today. And, again,
the rest of the world shows envy.}
10~~Therefore
so decreed the Lord/'Adonay God/Jehovah,
"Because
you have become high in stature,
and
has set your top among the clouds,
therefore
your 'right lobe'/heart is arrogant in its loftiness.
{and again history repeats itself - the US is an arrogant nation
today - forgetting the 'source' of all its blessings - God and His
Thinking/Word}
11~~Consequently
I will give it
{the tree of Assyria and maybe of the US if we do not turn our
Ways back to Him}
into
the hands of the chief of the nations/gentiles.
{Assyria fell to a combination of many nations -
if the US falls currently, it could be Russia or Communist China
that would take the roll of 'chief of the nations/gentiles'}
He
will effectively deal with it {the tree of Assyria}.
{Jesus Christ will permit other nations to administer the 5th cycle of
Discipline to the arrogant client nation who turns its back on Him
and His Word}
I have 'driven him out'/'rejected him' for his evil/reversionism.
12~~Therefore
foreigners . . .
the
terrible of the nations,
have
cut him down and cast him away.
{loss of nation status}
His branches are fallen upon the mountains and in all the valleys.
And his boughs are broken by all the deep places of the earth.
Therefore,
all the people of the earth
have
departed from his shadow,
and
have abandoned him in his ruin.
13~~Upon
it {his ruin}
the
birds of the air will settle,
and
all the animals of the field
will
live among his broken branches.
14~~To
the end that no tree by the waters
{nations who faithfully drink in the Waters of the Truth}
may
exalt themselves on account of their height
{so great they become arrogance and think the credit is theirs -
forgetting the source}
neither
shoot up their top among the clouds.
No 'water drinkers' stand upon themselves in their arrogance.
For
they are given over unto death
{5th cycle of discipline for the arrogant nations}
to
the earth below,
in
the middle of the sons of Adam,
among
those who go down to the pit {Sheol/Hades/Hell}.
15``Thus
decreed the Lord/'Adonay God/Jehovah,
"On
the day it went down to Sheol,
I
closed the deep over it and covered it.
I
held back its streams,
and
the great waters were checked.
I
made Lebanon mourn deeply for it,
and
all the trees of the field languished on its account.
16``
I made nations quake at the crash of its fall,
when
I cast it down to Sheol
with
those who descend into the Pit.
And
all the trees of Eden,
the
choicest and best of Lebanon,
all
that were well watered . . .
were
consoled in the lowest part of the netherworld.
17``They
also descended with it unto Sheol,
to
those slain by the sword,
together
with its supporters,
they
who had lived under its shadow among the nations.
18``Who
is comparable to you in glory and greatness
among
the trees of Eden?
And
you too shall be brought down with the trees of Eden
to
the lowest part of the netherworld.
You
shall lie among the uncircumcised
and
those slain by the sword.
Such
shall be . . . {the fate of} Pharaoh
and
all his hordes,"
declares
the Lord/'Adonay God/Jehovah.
