Isaiah

Chapter 14

{Verses 1-11: Judgment of the Chaldean Empire}
1 For Jehovah/God will have mercy on Jacob,
and will Yet choose Israel,
and set them in their own land.

And the strangers shall be joined with them,
and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

2 And the people shall take them,
and bring them to their place.

And the house of Israel
shall possess them in the land of the Jehovah/God
for servants and handmaids.

And they shall take them captives,
whose captives they were;
and they shall rule over their oppressors.

3 And it shall come to pass in the day
that the Jehovah/God shall give you rest from your sorrow,
and from your fear,
and from the hard bondage wherein you were made to serve, 4
that you shall take up this proverb
against the king of Babylon, and say,
"How has the oppressor ceased!

The golden city ceased!"

5 The Jehovah/God has broken the staff of the wicked,
and the scepter of the rulers.

6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke,
He who ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted,
and none hindered.

7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet.

They break forth into singing.

8 Yes, the fir trees rejoice at you,
and the cedars of Lebanon, saying,
"Since you are laid down,
no feller is come up against us."

9 Hell from beneath is moved for you to meet you at your coming.

It stirs up the dead for you,
even all the chief ones of the earth.

It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

10 All they shall speak and say unto you,
"Are you also become weak as we?

Are you become like unto us?

11 Your pomp is brought down to the grave,
and the noise of your viols.

The worm is spread under you, and the worms cover you.

{Verses 12-17: Judgment of Satan in Logical Order (Millennial Fall Presented first) The Three Falls of Satan}

{Isaiah Chapter 14:12 -14 Lucifer and the first sin - that of arrogance}
12~~ How you {Satan} have fallen from heaven,
O 'shining one'/'son of the morning'
  {heylel - KJV translates 'Lucifer' - literally is 'light bearer' - refers
  to his angelic body which apparently is made of light},
'son of the dawn' {shachar}!

You have been cut down to the earth!

You who have weaken the nations!

{Note: Ezekiel 28 gives the falls of Satan in chronological order. Here we have the falls of Satan in logical order - starting with his fall to earth in the middle of the Tribulation (per Revelation).}

{Note: In Genesis 3:1, RBT says the word `aruwm also means 'luminous' so the serpent was like a beautiful animal of light. Maybe the woman had it as a pet and Satan used it since it was also a light bearer.}

{Verses 13-14: Arrogant 5 "I will's" of Satan - First Known Creature Sin}
13a~~For you {Satan} thought/said
in your 'right lobe'/heart,
"I will ascend to heaven {3rd heaven}.
  {1st lust - to rule over God}

13b~~I will raise my throne
above the stars {angelic creatures}
of God.
  {2nd lust - to rule over Angels}

13c~~I will sit enthroned
upon the 'mount of the assembly/congregation',
in the uttermost extremity of the north.
  {3rd lust - to rule over mankind -Apparently this describes the great
   Throne Room in heaven - Satan in his arrogant thinking wants to
  be worshiped by the other angelic creatures - RBT also says this
  may be Satan's desire to rule over humans that God would later
  create (having access to heaven he could have had access to
  the plan of God)}

14a~~I will ascend above the heights of the clouds.
  {4th lust - ambition to function as God}

14b~~I will be like the Most High {'Elyown}."

[Note: It is my contention that Satan does not believe in a "One Invisible God". He believes the Theocracy established in heaven was set up by creatures to rule the universe. The "Most High" is the highest position in the Theocracy. "God" declares his will through this "most high" similar to the High Priest in the Levitical Priesthood that was set up on Earth to demonstrate through example what it was like in heaven. The Korah revolution was a re-enactment of Satan's revolt against the Most High (Numbers 16:1-35). It will again be repeated in the Tribulation by the Man of Lawlessness (II Thessalonians 2:3-4)]

15~~Nevertheless, you {Satan}
shall receive casting down
  {yarad - Hophal stem - passive causative - he will not go of
  his own free will}
to Sheol
  {KJV translates 'hell'},
to the recesses of the pit
  {the Abyss - see Revelation Chapter 20:1-3}.

16-17~~Those who see you {Satan}
shall 'receive staring/gawking' {shagach},
and consider you, saying,
"Is this the man who made the earth to tremble,
that did shake kingdoms . . . 17~~
who made the world as a desert/wilderness,
and destroyed the cities thereof . . .
who opened not the house of his prisoners?"
  {Satan is unable to release the fallen angels of Genesis 6 that
  God still has imprisoned in Tartarus today}

{Verses 18-24: Judgment of the Chaldean Empire}
18~~All the kings of the nations . . .
even all of them . . .
lie in glory,
every one in his own 'dwelling place' {bayith}.
  {all the kings built pyramids or other great burial places -
  they all dreamed of their remains being in a glorious resting place}

19~~But you
  {RBT says Belshazzar (see Daniel 5:30) is the one in view now}
are cast out of your grave
like an abominable branch,
and as the clothes/raiment of those who are slain . . .
thrust through with a sword . . .
  {the clothes of soldiers thrust with a sword are usually pretty
  ruined}
who go down to the stones of the pit . . .
as a carcass trodden under feet.

{Note: RBT says Belshazzar desired to be buried in glory like all great kings. Instead, he was run through by a sword and his only grave was under the dust of the feet of the conquering army.}

20~~You {Belshazzar}
shall not be joined with them in burial . . .
because you have destroyed your land,
and slain your people.

The seed/children of evildoers should never be renowned.

21~~Prepare the slaughter for his children
for the 'punishment for sin'/iniquity {`avon} of their fathers . . .
that they do not rise,
nor possess the land,
nor fill the face of the world with cities.

22~~"For I will rise up against them,"
said the Jehovah/God of armies/hosts,
"and cut off from Babylon the name,
and remnant, and son, and nephew,"
said the Jehovah/God.

23~~"I will also make it a possession
for the porcupine/bittern {qippowd},
and pools of water.

And I will sweep it
with the broom/besom {mat'ate'} of destruction,"
said the Jehovah/God of armies/hosts.

{Note: The Chaldean empire will be destroyed and today it no longer exists on the earth.}

24~~The Jehovah/God of the armies/hosts has sworn, saying,
"Surely as I have thought,
so shall it come to pass.
  {and in 539BC the destruction of the Chaldean Empire it does come
  to pass}

And as I have purposed, so shall it stand."

{Verses 25-27: Judgment of the Assyrian Empire}
25~~I will break the Assyrian in My land,
and upon My mountains tread him under foot.

Then shall his yoke depart from off them,
and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

{Note: The Assyrian empire enslaved many people and gave them terrific amounts of work to do.}

26~~This is the purpose
that is purposed upon the whole earth
and this is the hand
that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27~~For Jehovah/God of armies/hosts has purposed,
and who shall disannul it?

And His hand is stretched out,
and who shall turn it back?

{Note: RBT said that the Assyrians (and the Chaldeans) were involved in idolatry. Through idolatry, Satan controls people and nations. Satan did not want either the Chaldeans or Assyrians destroyed. But, he was powerless to stop God's will. See the book of Nahum for more on this subject.}

{Verses 28-32: Judgment of Judah -
  Because of Ahaz and His Terrible Decision}
28~~In the year that king Ahaz died {725 BC}
was this burden.

29~~Rejoice not you, everyone in Palestine . . .
because the rod of him who smote you is broken.

For out of the serpent's root
shall come forth a cockatrice/'spiting cobra' {tsepha`}.

And his fruit/prodigy shall be
a 'poisonous baby cobra'/'fiery flying serpent'.

{Note: Means that they will always be in trouble until the 2nd coming of Christ. The baby cobra comes out fully poisonous. They are dangerous from the start.}

30~~And the firstborn of the poor shall feed,
  {the saved Jews of the day of Hezekiah}
and the needy shall lie down in safety.
  {time of the Sennacherib invasion}

And I will kill your root {Assyria - the serpent root}
with famine,
and he shall slay your remnant.
  {means the Assyrians will come in and take out the Northern
  Kingdom}

31~~Howl, O gate . . .
cry, O city {Jerusalem} . . .
you, everyone in Palestine, are dissolved . . .
  {out under the 5th cycle of Discipline}
for there shall come from the north a smoke,
  {Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC}
and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

32~~What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation?

That the Jehovah/God has founded Zion . . .
and the poor of His people shall trust in it.
  {ends in a high note - the restoration of Israel at the 2nd Advent of
  Christ}
