I Samuel

Chapter 15 (Continued)

21~~But {Saul saying it is NOT MY fault}
the people took of the spoil
  {like they could over-rule the king},
sheep and oxen,
the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed,
to sacrifice unto Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead in Gilgal
  {implying their motivation was honorable}."

{Verses 22-23: Following Bible Doctrine IS Better than Works Outside His Will}
22a~~And Samuel said,
"Are burnt offerings and sacrifices to Jehovah/God
  {today this would be those who 'sacrifice for the Lord' they may be
  ritualistically going to church on Sunday, giving to the Church 10%,
  feeding the homeless, etc. . . . all to 'please God' BUT
  sacrificing the study of the Word saying 'I do not have the time' -
  ritual without reality is meaningless!}
as great pleasure/delight {chephets}
as in 'hearing, listening, concentrating, and obeying' {shama`}
the voice of Jehovah/God?
  {means 'Is ritual more important than doctrine IN the soul?'}"

22b~~"Behold {Principal of Doctrine},
to 'hear, listen, concentrate, and obey' {shama`}
  {to your right teacher}
is better than sacrifice,
and to concentrate {qashab - Hiphil stem} {is better}
than the fat of rams."

23a~~"For rebellion/reversionism
  {negative volition to doctrine}
is like the sin of '{all forms of} demonation'
  {qecem - includes witchcraft, astrology, etc.
  one is stupid on the negative/passive side; necromancy is stupid
  of the positive/active side ties to chapter 28 where Saul goes to
  the Witch of Endor - prophecy of the end of Saul 15 years later
  when he visited the Witch the night before his death},
while stubbornness/'rejection of authority' {patsar}
  {rejection of the communicator of doctrine - Samuel here}
is like nothingness/vapor/'an idol' { 'aven}
and 'ancestor worship using figurines' {t@raphiym}."

23b~~" Because you {Saul}
have despised/'totally rejected' {ma'ac}
  {blackout of Saul's soul - rejecting both the Teacher and the
  Message}
the 'doctrinal communication' {dabar} of Jehovah/God,
He will reject you from kingship
  {in the future - Saul is given time to recover but he will not}."

{Saul's Pseudo-Rebound - This is Ritual Not Reality}
24a~~And Saul said unto Samuel,
"I have sinned {chata'}
  {apparent but not genuine rebound because it required an offering
  in the Jewish Age and He is trying to say this is an unknown sin
  but he knew it was a sin also you do not say 'I have sinned', you
  NAME your sins and stop (do not add anything to GRACE)}."

24b~~"For I have ignored the message of Jehovah/God
  {idiom: literally: transgressed/'passed by' the mouth {peh} of
  Jehovah/God}
and your doctrines/words {dabar in the plural}
because I have feared the people
and obeyed/'listened to' {shama`} their voice
  {Saul listened to 'public opinion' instead of God and His Word -
  there is NO EXCUSE for sin - Saul wanted to do it and did it}."

{Note: There were two parts to rebound in Jewish age - confess sin and offer a rebound offering confession and rebound offering must line up (no offerings anymore in the Church Age - today pseudo rebound would be adding to confession - feeling sorry for it, doing penance, on and on - RBT says that is NOT correct rebound in the Church Age.}

25~~"Now therefore, please/'I pray you',
lift up {nasa'} my sin offering {chatta'ah}
  {Saul is asking Samuel to offer the 'sin offering' from Leviticus 4,
  but he should have asked for the 'unknown sin' offering (trespass
  offering) from Leviticus 5, Saul is asking for the WRONG rebound
  sacrifice - technical but important - Saul is doing this so he is not
  embarrassed before his people- public opinion!},
and turn again with me,
that I may worship Jehovah/God."

{Note: Saul should have offered the known sin offering of Leviticus 5 instead of asking for the 'unknown sin' offering of Leviticus 4 - Saul KNEW he sinned and lied about it.}

26~~And Samuel said unto Saul,
"I will not return with you
because you have rejected the Word of Jehovah/God,
consequently, Jehovah/God has rejected you
from being king over Israel."

27~~And as Samuel spun around to go away
  {in disgust with king Saul},
 he {Saul} seized/'grabbed vigorously'
the mantle of his robe,
and it was ripped.

{Note: Saul was a big man - maybe 7 feet tall. So he was using his physical strength to stop this man of God from leaving him.}

28~~And Samuel said unto him {Saul},
"Jehovah/God has torn
the kingdom of Israel from you this day,
and has given it to a friend of yours
  {referring to David who always was a true friend of Saul} . . .
{who is} better than you."

{Note: This verse will be quoted by the spirit of Samuel in Chapter 28:17 - in the middle of the Witch of Endor séance - that is when Samuel will identify that this is David - who is not only better than Saul, but is better than Saul will turn out to ever be.}

29~~"And also the Strength/'Perfect One'
  {natsach - referring to God Himself}
of Israel will not lie.
Nor will He 'change His mind'
for He is not a man."

30``Then he {Saul} said,
"I have sinned.
Yet honor me now, please/'I pray you',
before the elders of my people,
and before Israel,
and turn again with me,
that I may worship Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead."

31``So Samuel kept on turning again after Saul.
And Saul worshipped Jehovah/God.

32a``Then said Samuel,
"You cause to bring to me
Agag the king of the Amalekites."

32b``And Agag came unto him delicately.
And Agag said, "Surely the bitterness of death is past."

33a``And Samuel said,
"As your sword has made women childless,
so shall your mother be childless among women."

33b``And Samuel cut Agag in pieces
before Jehovah/God
in Gilgal.

34``Then Samuel went to Ramah.
And Saul went up to his house . . .
to Gibeah of Saul.

35a``And Samuel came no more to see Saul
until the day of his death.

35b``Nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul.
And Jehovah/God 'changed His mind'/regretted
  {anthropopathism - ascribing characteristics to God in terms
  humans can understand. God always knew what Saul would do -
  He is immutable.}
that He had made Saul king over Israel.}
