Psalms

Chapter 114
{Biblical Correlation of the Crossing the Red Sea Lead by Moses
  and the Crossing of the Jordan Lead by Joshua (Joshua 3:1)}
1~~When Israel went out of Egypt,
the house of Jacob
from a people of strange language {Egyptian}.

2~~Judah was his sanctuary,
and Israel his dominion.

3~~The sea saw it, and fled {the Red Sea}.
Jordan was driven back {the Jordan River}.

{Note: Both bodies of water represented insurmountable obstacles humanly impossible to cross. It is a 'type' for salvation. It takes the work of God to save any and all mankind. Christ's work on the cross removes the barrier between sinful mankind and our Perfect God.}

4~~The mountains skipped like rams,
and the little hills like lambs
  {idiom describing a miracle}.

5~~What ailed you, O you sea, that you fled?
You, Jordan, that you were driven back? 6~~
You mountains, that you skipped like rams;
and you little hills, like lambs?

{Note: The question is asked - "What caused the two bodies of water to part?". Then miracle idiom is repeated.}

{Answer}
7~~Tremble, you earth,
in the presence of the 'Adonay/Lord {'Adown},
in the presence of the Elohiym/Godhead {'elowahh} of Jacob
  {God of Jacob is always a reference to God with emphasis on His
  Grace}.

8~~Which turned the rock into a standing water,
the flint into a fountain of waters.

{Note: God delivers for eternity, but here the emphasis is on His deliverance in Time as well. It is a reference back to Moses striking the rock and water came pouring out at Meribah in Exodus 17 - God provides.}
