{Verses
1-14: Two Human Heralds of the 2nd Advent}
{Verses
1-2: Restoration of Temple for Jewish Worship}
1~~Then
a surveying instrument
like
a rod or a pole
was
given to me {John};
and
some one {the King of Arms} said,
"Go
up and measure the temple of God
{implies
the building of a new Jewish Temple},
also
the altar,
and
those who worship in it."
{Note: The believers in the first part of the Tribulation understood their command to flee to the mountains in Matthew 24:15-20 so they are not in Jerusalem at this point. Only unbelievers and ignorant believers would be here at this time. Many, many religious folk will flock to the temple. They are impressed with the ritual and do not understand the reality. Ritual without reality is religion without salvation - and is tragic.}
2~~And
exclude the outer court {the court of the Gentiles} . . .
do
not measure it . . .
because
it has been given to the Gentiles/Nations,
and
they will trample the holy city {Jerusalem}
for
forty-two months.
{Note: 42 months represents the first 3 ½ years of the Tribulation.}
{Two
Human Heralds of the 2nd Advent}
3~~And
I will give to my two witnesses/heralds {Moses and Elijah}
power
{a modified Divine Dynasphere},
and
they will prophesy {teach and foretell the coming events}
one
thousand two hundred and sixty days
{approximately three and a half years - last ½ of Tribulation},
'clothed
in sackcloth/'wearing the uniform made of sackcloth'.
{Note: RBT says Moses and Elijah will be resuscitated and will be the two human witnesses for the 2nd Advent of Christ. They are identified in Matthew 17: 2-3 when they appear with Jesus in His resurrection body on the mount of Transfiguration. They will have a form of the Filling of the Holy Spirit and will teach and prophesy for approximately 3 ½ years. SideNote: Some have speculated that one of the witnesses was Enoch because of his mysterious departure, but the witnesses were Jews and Enoch was not a Jew. So most likely, the witnesses are Moses and Elijah.}
{Note: RBT calls the last 3 ½ years the Days of Satan's Desperation. Malachi in Malachi 4:5 called the period of time the 'Great and dreadful Day of the Lord.'}
{Old
Testament Analogy to the Two Heralds/Witnesses}
4~~These
are the two olive trees,
also
the two lampstands
{Moses and Elijah communicate doctrine, they are the light for the
crisis}
who
are standing as heralds
before
the Lord of planet earth
{Jesus Christ at the second advent}.
{Note: Joshua and Zerubbabel rebuilt the Jewish Temple in BC 516. They were the two 'olive trees' in Zechariah 4:3. Zerubbabel represented the military and establishment. Joshua was a Levite and represented 'religion/spirituality'. . . what would become the Church in the Church Age.}
5~~For
if anyone desires
to
harm them {the two heralds, Moses and Elijah}
fire
shoots out of their mouth {weapon like a flame thrower},
and
destroys their enemies
{both born-again believers and unbelievers in the cosmic system};
also, if anyone would desire to hurt them in this manner,
must
he be killed.
6~~These
{Moses and Elijah}
have
the authority/power to shut up the sky,
so
that rain may not fall during the days
of
their prophetic ministry {last 3 ½ years of the Tribulation}.
Furthermore,
they have power
over
the waters to turn them into blood;
in
fact, to strike the land {Palestine} with every plague
as
often as they desire.
7~~Now
when they
{Moses and Elijah as the heralds of the 2nd Advent}
had
finished their testimony {their ministry},
the
'beast monster'/beast {therion}
who
comes up from the abyss
will
make war against them;
he
{Abaddon} will both overpower and kill them.
{Note: Therion is the Greek word for a beast. RBT says here it represents Abaddon, the demon ruler of Revelation 9:11 who ascends up from the abyss.}
8~~And
their dead bodies/corpses . . .
{will
be exhibited/displayed}
in
the street {in one specific street}
of
the great city {Jerusalem},
the
sort which is called figuratively/spiritually/emblematically
Sodom
{represents Jerusalem's moral degeneration of that day}
and
Egypt
{refers to the cosmic involvement of its citizens- demonization}
even
where their Lord
{THEIR meaning Jesus is/was the God of Israel}
was
crucified.
{Verses
9-10: Their Celebration - The Devil's Christmas}
9~~And
they from the masses/people {local people in Jerusalem}
and
from tribes {Jews in the Middle East}
and
many foreign languages
{news will be broadcast in very many languages}
and
Gentiles nations {the news will be broadcast all over the world}
will
view their bodies for three and a half days;
furthermore,
they did not permit their dead bodies
to
be placed in a tomb.10~~
And
the inhabitants of the earth {mankind in the cosmic system}
will
gloat/'constantly rejoice' over them
{the death of Moses and Elijah};
they
will both celebrate
and
exchange gifts {Christmas time for Satan and his followers!}
to
one another;
because
these two prophets
had
tormented the inhabitants of the earth {with the Truth!}.
{Note: To accomplish this viewing, we are probably talking about satellite news coverage of the event - like CNN coverage. For 3 ½ days, the majority of the world will celebrate the death of these teachers of the Truth. The evil world always celebrates when men teaching doctrine die. They think the Truth will die with them, but the Word will live and abide forever and ever.}
11~~And
after three and a half days
the
'breath of life'/spirit of life' {pneuma} from God
entered
into them {resuscitation}.
Then
they stood on their feet,
and
great fear fell on those who were viewing {observing} them.
12~~Then
they
{the two heralds of the second advent, Moses and Elijah}
heard
a loud voice from heaven saying to them,
"Come
up here."
And
so they went up to heaven in a cloud;
while
their enemies {negative volition toward their ministry}
observed
them.
13~~And
in that hour
there
was a great earthquake
and
one tenth of the city fell,
also
seven thousand people were killed;
and
the survivors became terrified,
and
they gave glory to the God of heaven.
14~~The
second woe has passed,
behold
the third woe follows soon.
{Verses
11:15 through 12:17: Seventh Trumpet Judgment - Attempt to Destroy
all Israel - See also Daniel 9:24-27}
15~~When
the seventh angel {the pursuivant messenger}
had
sounded his trumpet,
there
were also loud voices . . .
which
were saying,
"The
kingdom of the world
has
become the kingdom of our Lord {God the Father}
{the beginning of the Millennial reign of Christ}
and
His Christ.
In
fact, He {Christ} will rule forever and ever."
{Worship
Again - for Jesus Christ as He begins the 2nd Advent}
16-17~~Then
the twenty-four elders
{angelic staff officers of Revelation 4:4},
who
were sitting on the thrones
before/'in
the presence of' God,
fell
on their faces {represents the concept of humility},
and
they worshipped God 17~~saying,
"We
give you thanks,
O
Lord, the Almighty {Omnipotence},
Who
is {Omega Glory}, and Who was {Alpha Glory},
because
You have taken Your great power
and
have begun to rule/reign {Millennial reign of Christ}."
{SideNote: One side principal here is to be thankful to the GIVER for giving to you. Do not concentrate on the gift!}
18~~And
so the nations/gentiles were angry.
Then
Your anger came {baptism of fire},
also
the time with reference to the dead
{resurrection of the OT saints and Tribulational Martyrs}
to
be evaluated {Judgment seat of Christ for this group};
that
is, to present the rewards to your servants,
namely
to the prophets,
and
to the saints,
and
to those who respect His Person,
both
the lower and upper classes;
also
to destroy those
who
keep on destroying the earth
{Satan is also called the Great Destroyer}.
{Note: The first (the First-Born) to be resurrected {brought back to life to never die physically again) was Jesus Christ. The next in order is His Royal Family - all Church Age believers at the Rapture of the Church. Now here we have the third group - all other believers to this point in time: Pre - Church Age believers and Tribulational believers who have died. Tribulational believers alive at the 2nd Advent will go into the Millennium and will live for another thousand years unless they die of capital punishment.}
19~~Then
the temple of God
{which
was} in {the third} heaven
was
opened,
and
the Ark of the Covenant
was
seen in His temple.
And
there followed flashes of lightning
{warnings to anti-Semites who knew what they were doing},
and
noises
{normal people shattered by loud noises - anti-Semites again},
and
thunders
{warnings to anti-Semites who did not know what they were},
both
an earthquake and great hail storms.
{Note: The ark of the covenant today is physically located in the third heaven. It represents God's faithfulness to the Jews. God will keep His unconditional promises to the Jews in His own timing.}
