4-5: The church in heaven - when prophecy begins}
1~~After
these things {the church age and historical trends}
I
looked {investigation into prophetical trends}
in
fact, note this well,
a
door has been opened in heaven
{signifying that the rapture has occurred} and
the
first voice which I heard was
like
the sound of a trumpet
speaking
with me and saying,
"Come
up here, and
I
will point out to you
what
things {history}
must
come to pass
after
these things {church age}.
2~~
Immediately I {John} was
in
the Spirit {Filled with the Holy Spirit}.
Now
look at something new {behold},
a
throne was standing in heaven and
Someone
{Jesus Christ}
was
sitting on that throne.
3~~Furthermore,
He
Who
was sitting on that throne
was
in appearance
like
a precious stone {iaspis - a transparent, translucent stone},
both/namely a diamond and
a
Sardion/ruby,
also
the rainbow
which
encircled the throne
was
like an emerald
in
appearance.
{Note: The Greek word 'Sardion' was a precious stone mined in Sardus. There are two possibilities - a cornelian or a ruby. RBT says the cornelian stone was used in royal seals. So this represents the seal of the 3rd royal patent. In Exodus 28:17-20 we have the 'first and last' stones on the breastplate of the high priest - the diamond and the ruby. Also in Exodus 39:10-13, they also represent His intrinsic value.}
{Note: The rainbow is first introduced in Genesis 9:12-16 and represents the integrity of Jesus Christ that History will continue and a guarantee of eternal life and of human life throughout History.}
{Angelic
Authority in Heaven}

Also around the throne
I
saw twenty four additional thrones
{reserved for the angelic staff with authority in heaven} and
twenty
four angelic staff officers {presbuteros denotes authority}
were
sitting on those thrones {sitting is the posture of thinking} having
been clothed {denotes award and honor awarded to
elect angels in prehistory}
with
translucent clothing {uniform of glory} and
golden
crowns on their heads . . .

Also,
lightening(s)
{plural - numerous visible warning of disaster} and
loud
noises {audible warnings of disaster} and
peals
of thunder {intensified audible} . . .
proceed
from that throne and
seven
torches of fire
were
burning before that throne
which
are the seven spirits of God.
{Note:
The seven torches of fire are the Tribulational Seven Judgments:
Military, religious, economic, social, national or political,
natural, and disease. They are burning as a sign of grace before
judgment i.e. they have not carried out their purpose yet -
Zechariah
12:6 " . . . flaming torches among the sheaves".
All
seven categories will be studied in Rev 6-18.}
{Note: The seven spirits of God refers to the attributes of God the Holy Spirit (Revelation 1:4, 3:1, 4:5, 5:6 .and 11:2). Jesus Christ has the seven spirits in the prototype Divine Dynasphere. In this verse, God the Holy Spirit is being alluded to as the restrainer of the torches. See also II Thessalonians 2:3-12.}
6~~Also
before that throne, there was, as it were,
a
sea of glass like crystal {this is the tranquility of the church
in heaven during the tribulation}
furthermore
in the middle and around that throne
there
were four angelic heralds
{who each bear ¼ of the coat of arms of Jesus Christ},
full
of eyes {Uniform of Wisdom}
both
in front and
in
back of the coat of arms {see chapter 6}.
{Note: 'Eyes' in the Bible is often used for having wisdom. RBT says these four angels are the ones with the most doctrine/knowledge in them. They were rewarded with the Uniform of Eyes/Wisdom. And, here we see the coat of arms of the Lord Jesus Christ is so large, it takes four angels to carry it all.}

7~~Now
the first
'angelic
herald'/'living creature' {angels of the Seraph class}
was
like a lion
and
a second angelic herald was like a young bull
and
the third angelic herald had a face like a man
and
the fourth angelic herald was like a flying eagle.
{Note: Coat of Arms of the Lord Jesus Christ was so large it took four Seraph class angels (see next verse) to carry 1/4 of the eschuteon. Each Title/job of Christ was emphasized in a Gospel book:
1st eschuteon - Book of Matthew - emphasizing King of Jews - Davidic covenant, the 2nd royal patent, the lion of the tribe of Judah
2nd eschuteon - Book of Mark - Servant of Jehovah - Kenosis and impeccability, our Lord's first advent and his saving ability - submission to the Father's plan - the bull is a hard worker
3rd eschuteon - Book of Luke - Son of Man - Face of a man - His Humanity, physical death - the 3rd royal patent
4th eschuteon - Book of John - Son of God - Deity of Christ - An eagle represents God's blessing and discipline to Israel - Jesus Christ controls history.}
8~~Now
each one
of
the four angelic heralds {Seraphs/Seraphim}
had
six wings apiece {badge of highest rank}.
Furthermore,
they are full of eyes {uniform of wisdom}
both
inside {maximum perception of doctrine}
and
outside {maximum application of doctrine}
Furthermore,
day and night
they
never stop saying {these angels lead worship}
"Holy,
Holy, Holy {hagios},
Lord
God,
the
'All Powerful'/Almighty One,
He
Who was {1st royal patent:God of Israel/Lord of the Armies}
and
He Who is {Jesus Christ in resurrected body}
and
He Who is to come {2nd Advent}."
{Note: The six wings were in three pairs. Where they were located and what they represented:
One set of wings covers the face - humility;
Second set of wings covers the feet - respect for authority;
Third set of wings is for mobility - to function as angelic heralds between heaven and earth.}
{SideNote:
There are maybe 4 angelic heralds (Seraphs)
with
six wings who are higher in rank than Cherubs with their four wings
- and therefore they out rank Satan also.}
{Note: Hagios repeated three times is correctly each time translated 'holy'. 'Holy' represents God's Integrity. All worship should begin with recognizing the integrity of God - His righteousness, justice, and love. All three members of the Godhead have the exact same integrity. From the last three phrases, we see that it is the manifest God in view here - Jesus Christ.}
9~~And
when the angelic heralds
shall
give glory {category 1 worship - in eternal state}
and
honor {category II worship: requires possession of honor in time}
and
thanksgiving {category III worship - requires true capacity} . . .
to Him Who sits on the throne {Jesus Christ in Hypostatic Union},
to
Him Who lives forever and ever.
10-11~~
And the twenty four angelic heralds {general staff}
will
fall down before Him {Jesus Christ} . . .
Who
sits on the throne
and
will worship Him . . .
Who
lives forever and ever.
And
they will lay down their crowns {eternal rewards}
before
the throne and say, 11~~
"You,
O Lord keep on being worthy
to
receive glory
and
honor, also
the
power {3 forms of worship}
because
You {Jesus}
have
created {out of nothing} all things;
also,
because of Your {sovereign} will/purpose/design,
they
existed and
were
created."
