Isaiah

Chapter 45

{Isaiah Talks About Cyrus the Great and the Fall of Babylon and the
  Fall of the Chaldean Empire}
1~~ Thus said Jehovah/God
to his anointed,
to Cyrus . . .
whose right hand I have held,
to subdue nations before him.

And I will loose the loins of kings,
to open before him the two leaved gates
and the gates shall not be shut.

{Note: The first gate was where the Euphrates River flowed in protecting King Belshazzar, the king of Chaldea in Babylon - See Daniel 5. Isaiah is prophesying about the fall of the Chaldean empire BEFORE it even became a great empire!}

2 I will go before you,
and make the crooked places straight.

I will break in pieces the gates of brass,
and cut in sunder the bars of iron.

3 And I will give you the treasures of darkness,
and hidden riches of secret places,
that you may know that I, Jehovah/God,
Who call you by your name,
am the 'Elohiym/Godhead of Israel.

4 For Jacob My servant's sake,
and Israel My elect,
I have even called you by your name.

I have surnamed you,
though you have not known me.

5~~I . . . {am} Jehovah/God . . .
and there is no other 'Elohiym/Godhead except Me.

I girded you, though you have not known Me
  {to gird means to strap on - like strapping on the armor of the
  Lord}.

6a~~That they may know from the rising of the sun,
and from the west,
that there is none beside Me.

6b-7~~I am Jehovah/God {Jehovah},
and there is no other . . . 7~~
forming/sculpting {yatsar} the light,
and 'creating out of nothing' {bara'} darkness.

I am the One 'manufacturing out of something' {'asah} prosperity . . .
and 'creating out of nothing' {bara'}
the evil one {Satan}.

I . . . {am} Jehovah/God . . .
the One creating {'asah - out of something else}
all these things.

{Note: There are four Hebrew verbs for making something:

  1) bara' - means to create something out of nothing -
  instantaneously. So is a true beginning. See Genesis 1:1. The
  Universe and man's soul (Genesis 1:27) were also bara'ed out of
  nothing.

  2) 'asah - means to construct or manufacture something out of
  something else. In Genesis 1:25, God made animals out of
  something else.

  3) yatsar - means to form or design or sculpt. In Genesis 2:7, God
  'sculpted' man's body.

  4) banah' - which means to be built or constructed. The woman's
  body was banah'ed. She was built out of the man.}

{Note: So here, God created out of nothing both darkness and Satan (bara). Satan, the Prince of Darkness, is the cause of all darkness. So indirectly, God created (bara') . . . darkness. God formed the creature and controls him and what the creature creates. But, Satan from his own free will, is the author of evil.}

8 Drop down, you heavens, from above,
and let the skies pour down righteousness.

Let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation,
and let righteousness spring up together;
I Jehovah/God have 'created it out of nothing' {bara'}.

9 Woe unto him who strives with his Maker!

Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth.

Shall the clay say to him who fashioned/molded/formed {yatsar} it,
What do you 'make out of something else' {`asah}?

Or your work, 'He has no hands?'

10 Woe unto him who said unto his father,
'Who do you beget?

Or to the woman {mother},
'Who have you brought forth?'

11 Thus said Jehovah/God,
the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker,
Ask me of things to come concerning My sons,
and concerning the work of My hands command you Me.

12 I have 'manufactured the earth out of something else' {`asah},
and 'created man out of nothing' {bara'} upon it.

I, even my hands,
have stretched out the heavens,
and all their host have I commanded.

13 I have raised him up in righteousness,
and I will direct all his Ways.

He shall build My city,
and he shall let go My captives,
not for price nor reward,
said Jehovah/God of the armies/hosts.

14 Thus said Jehovah/God,
The labor of Egypt,
and merchandise of Ethiopia
and of the Sabeans,
men of stature,
shall come over unto you,
and they shall be yours.

They shall come after you;
in chains they shall come over,
and they shall fall down unto you,
they shall make supplication unto you, saying,
Surely 'El/God . . . {is} in you;
and there is none else,
{otherwise} there is no 'El/God.

15 Verily . . . {you are} a 'El/God
Who conceals Yourself,
O 'Elohiym/Godhead of Israel . . . the Savior.

16 They shall be ashamed,
and also confounded,
all of them.

They shall go to confusion together
who are makers of idols.

17 But Israel shall be saved in Jehovah/God
with an everlasting salvation.

You shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

18 For thus said Jehovah/God
Who 'created out of nothing' {bara'} the heavens;
God Himself Who formed/molded {yatsar} the earth
and 'manufactured it out of something else' {`asah}.

He has established it {kuwn}.

He 'created it out of nothing {kuwn}
not in vain.

He formed/molded {yatsar} it to be inhabited.

I am Jehovah/God . . . and there is none else.

19 I have not spoken in secret,
in a dark place of the earth.

I said not unto the seed of Jacob,
'Seek you Me in vain/emptiness.'

I Jehovah/God speak righteousness.

I declare things that are right.

20 Assemble yourselves and come.

'Draw near yourselves' together,
you who are escaped of the nations.

They have no knowledge
who set up the wood of their graven image,
and pray unto a 'el/god who cannot save.

21 Tell you, and bring them near.

Yes, let them take counsel together.

Who has declared this from ancient time?

Who has told it from that time?

Have not I Jehovah/God?

And there is no 'Elohiym/Godhead else beside Me . . .
a just 'El/God and a Savior . . .
there is none beside Me.

22 Look unto Me, and be you saved . . . .
all the ends of the earth.

For I am 'El/God, and there is none else.

23~~'By Myself {God},
  {from Romans 14:11 we learn this is a Jewish idiom
  - meaning 'I (God) keep on living' - referring to the Perfect
  integrity of Eternal God}
I have sworn.

The word is gone out of My mouth . . . in righteousness
  {Integrity of God - He said it and it WILL be done - veracity},
and shall not turn back,
that unto Me {Jesus Christ here}
every knee shall bow,
every tongue shall swear.

{Note: See Romans 14:11. This is a prophecy of the Rapture of the Church.}

24 Surely, shall one say,
in Jehovah/God
have I righteousness and strength . . .
even to Him shall men come;
and all who are incensed against Him shall be ashamed.

25 In Jehovah/God shall all the seed of Israel be justified,
and shall glory.
