Job Chapter 38 {Chapters 32-39: Decision of the Judges} {Chapters 38-39: Decision of the Divine Judge - God} {Satan's Interrogation is Over - God will Now Give 5 Questions} 1~~Then Jehovah/God answered Job out of the storm. He said, 2~~ "Who is this who darkens My counsel with doctrine . . . without knowledge? {Note: Means that Job has the doctrine but is applying it incorrectly.} 3~~Brace yourself like a man. I will question you and you will answer Me. {Verses 4-11: God's 1st Question - Was Job Present at Creation of Earth} 4a~~Were you {Job} present at the creation of planet Earth? 4b``Expound, if you have understanding. 5``Do you know who fixed its dimensions? Or who measured it with a line?   {using a surveying term} 6-7``Where are the foundations {of the earth} fastened {?} . . . Or who laid the corner-stone thereof ? . . . 7`` when the morning stars {boqer kowkab} sang together . . . and all the sons of 'Elohiym/Godhead {referring to angels} 'shouted for joy'/'shouted out a war cry' {ruwa` - Hiphil stem}? 8-10``Who covered/'shut up' the sea behind doors {?} . . . when it gushed/broke forth . . . when it came forth out of the womb {?} . . . 9`` when I {God} clothed it in clouds . . . and swaddled it in thick darkness . . . 10`` when I made brakers My limit for it . . . and set up bars and doors. {Note: See Revelation 20:13. RBT says 'the sea' in Revelation 20:13 is a reference taken from the flood waters of the universal floods. This is really like the 'gates of the Abyss' and the 'gates of Hades'. The Nephilim of Genesis 6 were not alive when the other angels revolted against God and were not part of their judgment. But as half-angel, they cannot go through the sea gates into Hades, which is the prison for human unbelievers, or into Tartarus/ Abyss said to be the prison for angelic creatures. So these Nephilim apparently are stuck in the sea gates mentioned here in Job 38:8 and are now judged along with human unbelievers.} 11~~ And {the Lord} said, "Thus far you shall come but no farther; and here shall your proud waves stop." {Verses 12-15: God's 2nd Question - Can Job Rotate the Earth on its Axis and Produce Day and Night?} 12-13``Have you {Job} ever commanded the day to break {?} . . . assigned the dawn its place {?} . . . 13` so that it might 'take hold'/seize of the corners/ends of the earth . . . and that the wicked might be shaken out of it? 14-15``It changes itself like clay under the seal till {its hues} are fixed like those of clothing . . . 15`` and from the wicked their light is withheld . . . and the upraised arm {idiom for a violent person} shall be broken. {Verses 16-30: God's 3rd Question - Can Job Guarantee 'Scientific Laws' Will Occur Tomorrow?} 16``Have you penetrated to the source/springs of the sea? Or have you walked about in the recesses of the depth? 17``Have the 'gates of entrance' of death been opened unto you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? 18``Have you {Job} considered diligently the breadth/'broad expanse' of the earth? Announce/Declare it . . . if you know. 19-20`` Where . . . {is} the way {where} light resides? And as for darkness . . . where is its place {?} . . . 20`` that you should take it to its domain {?} . . . and that you should know the pathways to its home/abode? 21``Surely you know, for you were born then . . . and the number of your years is many! 22-23``Have you penetrated the vaults of snow {?} . . . seen the vaults of hail {?} . . . 23~~ which I {God} have put aside for a time of adversity . . . for a day of war and battle? 24``By what path is the west wind dispersed {?} . . . the east wind scattered over the earth? 25-27``Who cut a channel for the torrents {?} . . . and a path for the thunderstorms . . . 26`` to rain down on uninhabited land . . . on the wilderness where no man is . . . 27`` to saturate the desolate wasteland . . . and make the crop of grass sprout forth? 28``Does the rain have a father? Who begot the dewdrops? 29``From whose belly came forth the ice? Who gave birth to the frost of heaven? 30``Water congeals like stone . . . and the surface of the deep freezes. {Verses 31-33: God's 4th Question - Can Job Handle the Universe outside of Planet Earth} 31~~Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the bands of Orion? 32~~Can you bring forth the Constellations in their season? Or can you bring out 'The Bear'/Arcturus/ 'Ursa Major and Ursa Minor' with his cubs? 33~~Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up {God's} dominion over the earth? {Verses 34:38: God's 5th Question - Can Job Operate the Laws of Meteorology?} 34``Can you send up an order to the clouds {?} . . . for an abundance of water to cover you? 35``Can you send/dispatch lightning on a mission {?} . . . and have it answer, "I am ready"? 36``Who put wisdom in the inward/hidden parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind/heart/'right lobe'? 37-38``Who is wise enough to give an account of the heavens? Who can tilt the bottles of the sky {?} . . . 38`` whereupon the dust is cast into mud/hardness . . . and the clods stick together? {RBT Says Chapter 39 Really Starts here} {Verses 39-41: God Begins the Interrogation on the Care and Balance of Nature in the Animal Kingdom} {Verses 39-40: Illustration the Lion} 39-40``Can you hunt prey for the lion {?} . . . and satisfy the appetite of the young lions {?} . . . 40`` when they crouch in their dens . . . and ambush in their lairs? {Verses 41: Illustration the Raven} 41``Who provides food for the raven {?} . . . when his young ones cry out to God/'El and they wander about without food?"
