Song of Solomon

Chapter 7
{Why didn't Solomon [S] chase and kill the Shepherd lover [SL}?- Chapter 7 describes this - the naked dance of the Jealous Queen [JQ]}

[S to JQ]1~~ "How beautiful are thy feet with shoes."

[S]~~ "O prince's daughter!
The hollow of thy thighs are like jewels
  {sexiest part of the woman to many- the setting for the female
  genitalia},
the work of the hands of a cunning workman."

{Note: When describing the SW Solomon started with her head. With the JQ he starts at her feet!}

[S]2~~ "Thy navel is like a round goblet,
which wanteth not liquor."
  {S is getting stimulated}

[S]~~ "Thy belly is like an heap of wheat
set about with lilies."
  {symmetry and attractiveness of her lower body}

[S]3~~"Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins."
  {symmetry of her upper body}

[S]4~~ "Thy neck is as a tower of ivory."

[S]~~ "Thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon,
by the gate of Bathrabbim."
  {very clear eyes}

[S]~~" Thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon
which looketh toward Damascus."
  {finely shaped and delicate}

[S]5~~ "Thine head upon thee is like Carmel,
and the hair of thine head like purple."
  {very beautiful coloring - and brings in her royalty}

[S]~~ "The king is held in the tresses."
  {S sits there clapping at her dance}

[S]6~~ "How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!"

{Note: Solomon sees her as a woman for pleasure only, obviously no category 2 love indicated by this phrase.}

 [S]7~~ "This thy stature is like to a palm tree
  {symmetry again},
and thy breasts to clusters."
  {could be clusters of fruit on palm tree}

[S]8~~ "I said, I will go up to the palm tree,
I will take hold of the boughs thereof:
now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine,
and the smell of thy nose like apples"
  {S ready to take action}

[S]9~~ "And the roof of thy mouth
  {remembering a French kiss}
like the best wine for my beloved,
that goeth down smoothly,
gliding over the lips and the teeth."

{Note: So this explains why Solomon did not immediately capture the SL and the SW. He is embracing and kissing the JQ!}

{ACT 4 (7:10- 8:04)}

{RESCUE SCENE -- SW ESCAPES AND SL COMES TO DELIVER HIS LOVE}

[SW to SL after rescue] 10~~
"I am my beloved's,
and his desire is toward me."

[SL] 11~~ "Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field;
let us lodge in the villages."
  {long term relationship discussed - right man/ right woman}

[SL] 12~~ "Let us get up early to see the vineyards;
let us see if the vine flourish,
whether the tender grape appear,
and the pomegranates bud forth.
There will I give thee my loves."
  {loves is plural -- soul love and physical love}

[SW] 13~~ "The mandrakes give a smell,
and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits
  {glorious life ahead},
new and old
  {had relationships in past and more to come},
which I have laid up for thee,
O my beloved."
  {saved herself for her right man}
