3
{Grace
Orientation and authority}
1~~
Remind them {under the doctrinal principal of authority}
to
be obedient to the national leadership and lower level authorities,
to obey the police authorities,
to
be prepared . . .
face
to face with every good work.
{Note:In Crete, the independent people did not recognize the authority of their government which Paul stated was incorrect.}
2~~
To malign no one,
to
refrain from trouble making,
but
reasonable . . .
demonstrating
grace orientation
face
to face with all men.
3~~
For we ourselves also were once upon a time:
stupid,
disbelieving,
constantly
being deceived,
a
slave to various kinds of lusts and pleasures,
passing
the time in the sphere of maliciousness and jealousy,
hateful
from jealousy, and
expression
of hatred toward one another of the same kind.
4~~
At that time, the magnanimousness and
love
of God our Savior toward man appeared.
5~~
He {Jesus} saved us, not out from the source of works . . .
by
means of righteousness which we have done,
but
through the washing,
even
regeneration,
even
the renewing of the Holy Spirit.
6~~Which {Holy Sprit} He {God the Father} shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
7~~
For the purpose
that
we should become heirs {we share in Christ's son-ship and
inheritance},
having
become justified
by
means of His grace
according
to the norm or standard of confidence of eternal life.
8~~Dependable
the Word
. . .
concerning
these things {doctrines taught} . . .
I
{Paul} decree {as an Apostle}
that
you habitually communicate with confidence and dogmatism, that they
which have believed The God
might
have the objective thought/concentration to undertake,
with
resolution and diligence,
honorable
production.
These
things are now, and always will be,
honorable
and beneficial unto men.
9~~
But avoid:
stupid
controversial things {social reforms contrary to the Bible}, and
genealogies {doctrines neutralized by human viewpoint}, and
contentions {liberalistic ideas}, and
strivings
and
contentions
relating to the law . . .
for
they are useless {to the Christian life} and vain.
10~~
A man that is a heretic {harbors factions because he harbors
false views} . . .
after
the first and second admonition . . .
REJECT!
{Note: This is the principal in dealing with people engrained in false doctrine. Give the correct doctrine to them. Give it to them a second time. If they continue to reject sound doctrine, separate yourself from their false doctrine.}
11~~
Knowing that he that is subverted {who is as of such a character},
constantly
sins,
being
a critic against himself {when you reject Bible doctrine you
condemn yourself}.
12~~
When I shall send Artemas unto you, or Tychicus,
hasten
to come face to face with me in Nicopolis . . .
for
there, I {Paul} have decided to spend the winter.
{Note: When Paul sends Artemas and Tychicus to Cyprus, Titus is to come to Paul in Nicopolis - milder teachers will replace the bracing style teaching of Titus.}
13~~ Escort Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey with haste, that nothing be deficient unto them.
14~~
And let ours {the Cretans} also
learn
by experience {application of doctrine}
to
practice honorable production
because
of needful requirements
that
they be not unproductive.
15~~
All that are with me salute you {lots of rapport}.

them that love us in the sphere of The Doctrine.
