Jeremiah

Chapter 43
{Transitional Chapter}
1-3~~And it came to pass {chronological order indicated here},
that when Jeremiah
had made 'completed his long and intensive categorical teaching'
  {kalah dabar - indicates a long message and only a bit is recorded
  and it was an intensive message}
unto all the people all the words
of Jehovah/God their Elohiym/Godhead,
for which Jehovah/God their Elohiym/Godhead
had sent {shalach} him to them,
even all these 'words of categorical teaching' {dabar} . . . 2~~
then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah
  {Johanan's chief of staff from 42:1 - also known as Jezaniah - RBT
  says his name is changed a bit to show he is great in military
  courage but lacking in moral courage - so he is the 'same man' but
  not the same in courage before his own people.},
and Johanan the son of Kareah,
and all the arrogant/proud {zed - mental attitude sin here} men,
saying unto Jeremiah,
"You keep on categorically teaching {dabar} a viscous lie
  {sheqer - same word Gedaliah used to Johanan on his comments
  on the conspirator Ishmael - see Jeremiah 40:16},
the Jehovah/God our Elohiym/Godhead has not sent you to say,
'Go not into Egypt to sojourn there.' 3~~
But Baruch the son of Neriah
keeps on prejudicing/persuading {cuwth} you {Jeremiah} against us,
in order for you to deliver us
into the hand of the Chaldeans {slander of Baruch},
that they might put us to death,
and carry us away into slavery into Babylon."

{Note: RBT says Baruch was a quiet type of person, Jeremiah's friend and would be his chief of staff if he had one. See Jeremiah 36 and 32.}

{Rejection of the Word of God}
4~~So Johanan the son of Kareah,
and all the generals of the divisions
  {divisional commanders of establishment army},
and all the people
  {survivors of establishment party mostly believers now in
  reversionism},
listened, concentrated and obeyed {shama`}
not the voice of the Jehovah/God,
to dwell in prosperity {yashab} in the land of Judah.

{The Apostate Fugitives Discussed}
5~~Johanan the son of Kareah,
and all the generals of the divisions,
'seized or coerced by force' {laqach}
all the remnant of Judah,
who were returned from all nations {Ammon, Moab, and Edom},
where they had been driven {expelled from their own land},
to 'dwell temporarily'/sojourn {guwr} in the land of Judah.

{Note: Laqach means to forcibly take the people. Well at least Jeremiah and Baruch are forced to go and we don't know how many others. The principal here is the military - instead of providing freedom to a Nation - is now being misused.}

{The Original Jeremiah's Group of Positive Believers Discussed}
6~~Men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters -
every soul {nephesh - used to emphasize 'those people with doctrine
  in their souls'}
who Nebuzaradan the 'Provo Marshall General'/'G2 Commander'
  {rabsarbashim - 'Prince of the executioners' - title 2nd Highest in
  military}
had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan -
and Jeremiah the prophet,
and Baruch the son of Neriah.

7~~So they came into the land of Egypt
  {where they would never be happy - no will of God in their lives}
for they 'listened, concentrated, and obeyed' {shama`}
not the voice of Jehovah/God.
And they came to {the border city of} Tahpanhes.

{Note: There was a strong Greek mercenary army here. And, with the Greek culture came a strong following of the Phallic Cult. So these apostates wanted to stay here for the security of the Greek army and then also enjoy the sex orgies in idolatry (see next chapter - burning cakes to the queen of heaven).}

{Verse 8-13: Message for the Jews staying in Tahpanhes}
8-9~~Then came the word of the Jehovah/God
unto Jeremiah in {the city of} Tahpanhes, saying, 9~~
'Seize violently'
  {laqach - same word describing Jeremiah's trip to Egypt}
great stones in your hand,
and hide them {taman} in the clay in the brick kiln
  {final touches to the fortification of the city going on},
which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes
  {gate at the entry of the Acropolis/fortification},
in the eyes/sight of the men of Judah
  {this is an illustration from God for the Jews}.

{Note: This verse indicates Jeremiah was still in the plan of God. So he did come to Egypt against his free will. RBT says this is the reign of Pharaoh Hophra and the Greeks called him Apries (he dies in 570BC as the result of a revolution - 3 years later the Chaldean invasion will come). The large stones represent the Chaldeans coming to Egypt and the Chaldeans will move right over this fortification and great Greek army - this is their first warning from God.}

{Chaldeans will Conquer this Fortification}
10~~And 'speak what is on the mind' {'amar} unto them,
 Thus said {'amar} the Jehovah/God of the armies/hosts . . .
the Elohiym/Godhead of Israel,
"Behold, I will being the process of sending
  {shalach - motivating him to move over time}
and 'seizing violently' {laqach} -
Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, My servant -
and will establish his throne upon these stones that I have concealed
and he shall spread his royal tapestry {oriental rugs} over them
  {indicates his throne and rugs before the throne will be placed right
  there}."

{Note: Nebuchadnezzar will put his throne of judgment right there from which he will rule. So this implies Chaldean invasion and victory.}

11~~And when he {Nebuchadnezzar} comes {567BC},
he shall smite the land of Egypt,
and deliver such as are appointed to 'death by disease' {maveth}
to 'death by disease' {some WILL die in this manner}.
And such as are for captivity to captivity {slaves}.
And such as are for the sword to the sword
  {death of civilians after military destroyed}.

43:12~~And I will cause to burn
the houses of the elohiym/gods of Egypt
  {fire and destruction of the false temples themselves}.
And he {Nebuchadnezzar} shall burn them,
and carry them
  {shabah - both the idols and the creators of the idols}.
away slaves.
And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt,
as a shepherd's cloak.
And he shall go forth from there
in peace {shalowm}."

13~~ "He {Nebuchadnezzar}
shall break also the 'obilisques'(sp)/
'tall tapering monolithic staff shaped to a point
to capture the rays of the sun'
of 'The Temple of the Sun' {Bethshemesh},
that is in the land of Egypt.
And the houses of the elohiym/gods of the Egyptians
shall he burn with fire."

{Note: Illustrates the completeness of Chaldean victory - destruction of the temple of the sun at 'Heliopolis (Greek for city of the sun) or On or Onu (Egyptian city name)'. Here they worshiped the god of the sun - spelled Ra, Re or Phra.}
